My old Aladin Stanley from 1998 died today and i am looking for a durable replacement without breaking the bank.

As a counter proposal, have you considered replacing your flask with a small stove (like a Jetboil)? With water and a mug it would take up a little more space in your bag but there is something very special about making yourself a decent, fresh brew and with practice, a Jetboil is almost silent to use. You could even cook up your Stalker’s Breakfast with it......

Stanley still probably the best or certainly one of the best available. Costco do them. I picked up some Sigg flasks in the US some time back they too are very good but probably difficult to get here.

We have US servicemen in Hoenfels training ground in Germany just take their Stanley"s to the local recycling centre if they ever lose the cup. Not needed to buy one for years now. They are almost bulletproof.

Mine's still going strong, manufactured in last 3 months of 1994 according to stamps on base. A bit heavy, but worth it. I think they are all made in China now, so I don't know whether the new ones are just as good.

Not sure how the warranty works from the UK, but inside the US I believe Stanley thermoses still have a lifetime replacement warranty. I sent in my old one in camouflage that had traveled the world with me (literally, it deployed to every military location I did) and finally died. I sent back and they sent me a brand new one.

Related side story. Standing in line to deploy somewhere, and a I had my backpack of personal things, my dog-eared copy of LOTR, and my thermos. A young guy looked over at the "beat to hell" thermos and said something to the effect of "Sarge your thermos looks like crap" - I stood up and responded "Son, this thermos has been in the service longer than you have, and it outranks you - now apologize"

Stanley have a lifetime warranty.

Send it back to them. They will replace it for you.

My wife sent back a flask she had had over thirty years and got a new one from them in the UK

The best thermos flasks for camping, hiking and festivals
 got to be as this is the only one i'v not smashed

Dropped my Thermos and broke the glass inner - they don't sell replacements any more. Fortunately I found an old-fashioned but unused red Aladdin Canadian-made flask for 50p in a charity shop, and it gets used when the Stanley's not posh enough!

I had the same predicament, when my Aladdin flask broke. I Researched it and bought a Klean kanteen it’s all metal well built tough easy grip coating and as I am out surveying power lines all day it’s my only source of hot water and I even have to put cold in the flask or the thing is too damn hot. Even when I get home and poor any water left over out it’s still hot and that’s even when I’ve put a bit of cold in it.
i even bought there thermal mug which is excellent also, not cheep but great stuff and easy to clean and it keeps it hot.
in my opinion Its best to buy quality and pay the money.

Had to look and they do appear very well made:
