it was the first case of bTB in deer recorded on the ground in 30 years. No cattle within a couple of miles.

That said, sadly round here bTB is increasingly common.

Was this in 2018 or more recent? I read about a Muntjac with TB in the 2018 epidemiology report , exciting person that I am! Interesting to see if anything was reported in deer in 2019. Seems to be increasing in everything else.
