PACKHAM SEEKS A TRUCE

Plus it's that time off year again, coming up to the glorious 12th.

Was it not only couple of years ago they were signing praises of shooting at cla game fair, within days had front page fake news about raptors etc.
They already had there smear campaign written and ready to go.
He's only after more ammo to stab us in the back with.


Just to add when u get to ground level u often find some really quite decent rspb employees that know the score and really do realise the good shooting does and will work alongside when needed.
Like many orgs it's the top levels that become political and lose touch with the roots and origins.

The anti's have gone way OTT in the past few years ! you have to be on guard even when standing on a peg let alone sitting up a seat on private land ? . Even the thought of letting him / them in close makes you feel like you have to go on the defensive ! , it just rings bells of zero trust both ways or its just not another plan or decoy ?

A truce AFTER ground is gained, is simply a way to formalize the new boundaries. If the truce is accepted, I fear that hostilities will soon commence and some more ground will be yielded until the next truce.

Reminds me of the old story about the person that helps an injured snake, and then the snake bites them. When the person asks why, the snake replies "because I am still a snake".
 
Get everything in writing and record all conversations "for training purposes". Gives him no wriggle room to volte face and lie further down the line
 
I'm sorry but the way that Packham has behaved and put shooters (IN general) down with his vile lies I do not believe a single word that comes out of his mouth! Some people might well be able to or be willing to change but I for one do not believe that this is the case with CP, I believe that once again there might well be some sort of "hidden agenda" in his request for a "truce"!

The problem is also his fanbase, not one of which is positive to shooting or predator control judging by their comments. I think the most important thing to CP is CP. He could be a politician in another life.
 
I wouldn't engage with this guy at all. He has shown his true colours on many an occasion and I wouldn't give him an inch. If he is offering a ' truce', it's only to benefit him and HIS views and most certainly not the industry. As shooters, we have enough to contend with without inviting rattlesnakes back into our midst. To hell with him!
 
A truce would be a signal that we accept his views and are giving in to his bull dust

He'd love that , in his eyes he'd be winning the battle With a big "I told ya I'm right" smile on his smug mug

Feck him he started the war , it's now time for him to be constantly on the back foot
