I, also, do not agree with putting down a member of this forum, for asking a question. I have, always, believed that the only dumb question was the one that wasn't asked.
I remember, when I first became a member on here, that questions were encouraged, no matter how dumb, one might think it was. No one is born with the knowledge and, in my case, I learned to hunt in the mountains of Washington State, when I was in my early teens. Then I joined the military and went to Germany, where I had to learn all over again. Now, I m here in Scotland and learning the ways of putting meat on the table, here. Nothing is as easy as far too many let one believe it is, but with the proper knowledge, it can seem so.
Every country is different and, like I said, no one is born knowing all there is about doing it the "proper" way. Different country, different customs, different methods.
If a novice askes a question, that most have known the answer for most of their lives, the proper thing to do would be to answer the question truthfully, so the novice can feel more comfortable when with the 'older' more experienced stalkers, having gained the power of knowledge.
Remember, "the only dumb question is the one that wasn't asked." There are those who are afraid to ask the very same question. but you stood up and asked it. With that goes, "don't ask the question if you are not prepared for the answer".
