PACKHAM SEEKS A TRUCE

As the Hon Judge Judy often says, "you know he is lying, because his mouth moves", he is after a Knighthood and has probably been told to cool things down and not to be seen as someone who is out of touch with reality.

I'm prepared to give Chris the benefit of the doubt and make a goodwill gesture, I shan't be going on the puffin shooting trip that he was so concerned about.

Maybe he realises that some organisations co<<ed up, and that amateur moorland estate managers have lead to the demise of many hen harriers as a result of ground predators.

No - but i believe if we can demonstrate the positives we as a community provide and the rich biodiversity we create these people will start looking at what we do in a positive light.
Shutting doors seldom works in my experience

The works i have done on my small estate have now produced - to just name a few
English partridge
Kingfisher
Red Kite
Barn Owl
Goshwak
Peregrine
Osprey visits in the spring
Flocks of finches and tits

I know i am not on my own and shoots all across the country are doing this and more but we never get the platform we deserve to showcase what we know

I agree that we don’t get the attention but the world of press runs on doom and gloom With some shock and hysteria, watch the news and then after 1/2 an hour of 'we're doomed,I tell you, they end with a cheery note of some granny who managed to suck 5 eggs clean of their shells in 5 minutes. When we are against that sort of press then of course we won’t get much airtime.
Packham denotes doom and gloom and is a 'celebrity' so gets air time. He wants to save the world but, oh, it is so difficult because of these people who kill these beautiful birds.
I think his truce would be aimed at manipulating the hunting groups until he can stick the knife in. You have to remember he has been caught out lying before when it comes to raptors laying the blame fairly and squarely on gamekeepers for killing one.

i afraid as some one has already said keep your friends close and your enemies closer, with Mr Packham I would want him chained tight to an immovable object, I would have no trust in him. His views whilst still on the same book, possibly, are at opposite ends of the spectrum and will never change.

Well I dont trust him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he uses information gained to push his own agenda. I also would be wary of who he lies with.

Well there's an old saying "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer"

We should all be co operating for a more ethical, sustainable countryside with country sports as one of the fore front leaders. NOT these so called experts or TV personalities who frankly to the greater extent are clueless about country sports and hunting and how its been the main fabric of our outstanding countryside. There is room for all, as long as those who were not listening, are now prepared to do so and work alongside those who make a living and work actually in the countryside, not in a TV studio.

Does anyone happen to have Chris Packham's email address? I'd like to drop him a line and get to the bottom of this. Find out first-hand what he's on about exactly.

I really hope you do VSS - he needs to come to a shoot
Look at the feeding we do off season
Look how we battle developments in the countryside
View us litter collecting
Look at the crops we grow for pollinators
Without us much of it would be a dump - or in my specific case a dead larch wood !

He has thousands of followers who may want to do something practical with a little positive education - just for example instead of moaning about shooters grow some native wildflowers. Many are moderates and want a better environment in which we all live and work.

He can be contacted on the wild justice website

Totally agree. All our wildlife is/will be under more and more pressure from habitat loss for house building and infrastructure. What we have left needs to protected by all conservation/shooting orgs.

Problem with that is that Mr packham is no more of a conservationist than atilla the hun, he is a self serving hypocrite with a delusion of grandeur, for him it’s a case of do as I say not as I do

I see in a report that Wild Justice has just launched a legal case against the badger cull. It was also revealed that Humane Society International - UK had donated £10,000 towards its legal costs
