You could hire a boat out of Dalavich, probably still can, park right by the Loch. We'd leave cars and homes unlocked (obviously not with firearms in the equation), lovely area, honest and easy going folks. Ferox trout are the big deal in Loch Awe and brownie fishing there and the surrounding hill lochans (Edeline Estate lochans well worth a cast). Wasn't aware pike are a thing there though.

Whats the deal with Ferox up there? are fishing permits required. Would love to catch a ferox, but it sounds a little boring, many hours trolling. Cheers.
DONT DO IT !!Whats the deal with Ferox up there? are fishing permits required. Would love to catch a ferox, but it sounds a little boring, many hours trolling. Cheers.
There are bigger ferox in Scotland. I know a loch where the British record has been beaten three times in one week, but the landowner did not want it made public.Ferox weren't my bag, The largest ferox in the UK are found in Loch Awe, which probably isn't a surprise as Loch Awe is Scotland's longest loch
I did hear of someone who had spent 2000 hours over several years in pursuit of his perfect pike on Loch Awe.Stalking/shooting is cheaper and less addictive.
I think we have Magnox trout in North Wales:Whats the deal with Ferox up there? are fishing permits required. Would love to catch a ferox, but it sounds a little boring, many hours trolling. Cheers.
