I am an infantryman by trade. After ten years of leading a semi-nomadic forces life I have put down more permanent roots in Warwickshire. I am a farmers son and as such grown up around fieldsports and always had an interest in deer stalking but due to the size of our farm (small fruit farm in the west mids) and geographical location never had any real access to ground with deer.
I have pursued stalking through out my military career (DDM / paid stalks etc.) but multiple operational tours and postings every 2 years has prevented any real continuity. I have finally got a rifle (.308 due to my familiarity with the calibre from work) and hope to find some ground in Warwickshire. Particularly interested in pursuing non-native species in a habitat management context and filling the freezer.
