That’s helpful KeithThere are a few good ones in Ireland but I would not want to start giving details out to people that I don't know. It might sound harsh but if anyone is really keen enough to find a good stud, they should be able to do so.

How about doing it the other way Keith.
Get the guy to send you his details and pass them on.
There’s more than one way to skin a cat
Toucheand I did say, it might sound harsh. But the guy already owns a dachshund bitch - any thoughts at all about breeding should start with some deep and serious research as to what stud dogs are available and then whittling it down to the most suitable. If the guy is 'looking to breed'along with the host of responsibilities that come with that, it feels a poor start that he is 'asking around' for stud dogs - Ireland is not exactly a big place.
The Teckel Society of UK and Ireland would be an obvious place to start.

Yes but finding a stud is a key part to breeding, you based your comments purely on assumptions which quite frankly comes across as arrogant and ignorant. My point was purely that there is a lot more to breeding planning than finding a stud. Hopefully your friend isn't simply looking for a stud because he wants to breed from his bitch.
Hopefully your friend is compiling a list of potential studs so that he then
then has the time to sift through them and decide which is the best match.
If the latter is correct I apologise for my curtness and wish him well.
