Renewal of coterminous FC/SGC

I've had a quick scan through the documents they require but as it's a Co-terminus renewal I'm not sure whether I still need two referees or more than one photo.
Anybody else completed theirs and have any idea of what's what ?

one referee on the shotgun,

two on the FAC ( and one piece of land with permission)

Coterminous = two referees - used for both shotgun and FAC. and details of land with permission .

.....I put two pics in the envelope as I couldn't remember of it was one or two they required and a cheque for payment...which I ballsed up on...put too large an amount .....They rang me up and made me aware and I paid my card over the phone -- they tore up the cheque :)

I have today received a letter from the Wilts Firearms dept. telling me that as my coterminous licences are soon due to expire and to download the renewal forms and return them asap.
My Licences do not expire until mid January 2021 which to my mind is not 'soon'
Has anybody else had such early reminders ?
got my reminder 10 days ago for an early Jan renewal.

better to soon that a last minute rush particularly in the present times when resources may be deployed elsewhere.

Amazing that you can get a new/replacement driving license, passport a loan or mortgage but a percentage of constabularies cant provide anything other than renewals in an untimely manner Covid is a lame excuse with modern technology,

I have not heard that renewals are not required but have been deferred, as with MOT's so, ensure you are still the holder of a certificate with your police force. If your renewal will not be available on time I suggest you have no alternative but to lodge (appropriately) with a friend or RFD until you are renewed. Most forces do appear to be prioritising renewals. Whether or not the should need to is anyone's guess but how long is it since e-fomrs and renewals was touted as the way to bring efficiences?

Have just received my new certificates ( starting 02/12/2020) today, having had a FEO visit last week. Great service from Essex Police. I have previously complained about their service, but they really seem to have turned it around for the better

Far better to apply in plenty of time than run out of time and have to get a letter of extension (which curtails what you can do) or a section 7 (which only gives you power to hold them).

mine expired on the 12th....tried ringing today via 101....lost the will to live after 25mins on hold / being put through to different depts ...will try again tomorrow

I wondered why 101 but knew someone else would query it before I had time to make a query.
I went to hand mine in but found them closed and no letter box either.
So knowing my way round Police HQ from my past !! I went round the side and found someone to contact the FAL dept for me as I wanted someone to check where the usual mistakes are made to make sure I hadn't made any ;)
All checked and found to be correct so now in the system probably at the bottom of a pile 3Ft tall :(

Why via 101? Better to just ring your local firearms licencing dept, surely?
emailed them earlier this evening ...Didnt realise they had their own dedicated number until after I posted d'oh. !!!!! Took it for granted that all contact with the police was through 101

Mine turned up in the post today.

Five weeks from submitting the forms online and less than two weeks from the phone call. 👏

The Thames Valley team have improved significantly in recent years, and I have nothing but praise for them.
:tiphat:
You find yourself with 2 sets of certificates, one to start when the other runs out, which threw me slightly as it actually makes sense.
As you say, TVP have really got themselves sorted since the flood

When I originally spoke with TVP they asked me to return the old certificates as soon as I received the new ones, as otherwise I would have two sets of tickets running at the same time - which apparently is illegal.

However as it turns out the new ones are post-dated, so as you say they only become valid the day after the old ones expire.

Happy days!

Update ...Tried ringing..lines only open between 10 and 11 am...No reply just voicemail..Emailed reminding that my tickets had expired and requested a sec 7 ..Advisd my renewal was with the manager for approval and as I had submitted my paperwork early / in good time etc the system automatically extended my licence / certificate until December ...No sect 7....So what do I do?

the FEO I spoke to in my area advised that they now require old licences returning so the the ammunition purchases amounts / frequency can be checked ..

They would have fun with mine and no doubt many others too. As I reload there’s nothing but some 22lr and the odd box of factory when I bought a new rifle.

They can check purchases without the certificates - mine asked about the quantity of 30-06 on my ticket, as I only have the calibre for when borrowing a friend’s rifle under the “estate rifle” clause if we have clients out. I was asked whether I reloaded, since I hadn’t bought any during the term of the current certificate.

Also if by “they now require old licences returning” you mean to send in your original certificates before they are renewed, don’t, send copies. Otherwise you will be left in the illegal position of being in possession of firearms and shotguns without being in possession of valid certificates. As I mentioned, my new tickets run automatically from the date of expiry of the old ones (despite what I was told over the phone), so currently I require my old tickets to remain legal.
