Covid test positive (lead symptoms not what they say)

Hi guys,
Hope everyone is doing well.
Now I’m not out for sympathy or anything but just wanted to let you know I’ve tested positive for Covid, and I just wanted to give people the heads up as the symptoms are not what they say.

It all started as a cold (not what they tell you) no loss of smell or taste, but just like a cold, the sniffles, but of a cough the tired feeling etc.
So lots of paracetamol etc
This was Thursday until Monday morning, still no persistent cough, could still smell and taste until Monday afternoon, when I was in work with a cup of coffee. It didn’t taste right so I attempted to smell some potent hand gel that’s like rocket fuel, and couldn’t smell it so off home.
I managed to book a test for that evening and not long had the results.
Feel ok so far, was rough the weekend but only a cold rough, thankfully nothing worse than that.

So don’t rely on having a cough/temperature/ loss of taste or smell.
It took a few days for me to lose smell & taste so stay safe and if your not sure get tested 👍🏻👍🏻

I had it just before lock down not all the symptom's described ie. no cough but did have the bad head and also a rash and felt like i had being hit by a train on my ribs .then extremely tired after i thought i was over it !!!

I think we've all had it mate , and not realised , hence the..........

Mask, hands n distance , it's an unknown

Never mind , let's all just crack on

Masks, hands, space , the basics apart from wearing a mask

Had exactly the same without the rash. Cant do anything without being out of breath.

I've been off colour since the summer before last. Nothing really to write home about, just a slight lack of breath when walking briskly uphill, and a definite reduction in my senses of taste and smell. The onset coincided with the return of one colleague from the USA, and another from the Netherlands . . . .

All this mask nonsense and lockdown seems utterly pointless and counterproductive to me, to be quite honest. If you're going to get it, you're going to get it. As long as you're relatively fit and healthy I don't see there's anything in the world to be concerned about. Despite the unfathomable panic of last March I'm yet to trip over piles of bodies, or encounter hordes of zombies roaming the streets . . . .

It can, does and will continue to affect fit and healthy people in the most severe way, just like pneumonia does. It causes a vq mismatch, look it up, its not to be taken light heartedly.

Daughter in law went to hospital with kidney problems, one operation later fine, tested for covid over the next 5 days, 4 clear and final day positive. Told to go home and self isolate with her husband and 2 children!!!!!!

Because there is very little in hospital they can do unless you are extremely sick and in that case it is mainly respiratory support.

I had one with my wife and small child last week and had the results...negative all...by email ten hours later. Same reason as another here that if you been into a hospital you are then advised, nay told in fact, to have one.

We have just had a lad at work tested as his brother was positive with symptoms, the lad has no symptoms is as fit as a fiddle but tested positive? You just don't know, stay safe all.

So does being hit by a bus. That small fact hasn't caused an idiotic mass panic though, has it?
Dealt with and treated Covid-19 patients have you?

Seen of; nurses; paramedics; doctor's; intensivists et cetera dying as a result of treating it?

Seen of; nurses; paramedics; doctors; intensivists et cetera not being able to see their family for months?

Wonder if you'd feel the same if a close family member or one of your children (presumably you have children) was critically ill with it?

It isn't a small fact when I've worked in a clinical setting dealing with it. I suggest doing some research about how serious it actually is, and when you have we will have an educated chat about it.

Back in March my wife had 16 days and nights of fever! Asked me if she was gonna die! Pretty unwell. Assume she had it, never tested. I was a bit tired each afternoon, for about a week, but nothing major . However, I still feel breathless where I wouldn’t normally and that’s months after.
Get well soon !

Don't patronise me, sonny. Take your virtue signalling hero ass somewhere else as you're just not impressing me. What I'm seeing is an entire planet practically brought to its knees both economically and socially based on little more than hearsay, rumour, scaremongering, skewed statistics, outright lies, and science that seems based on whatever study the powers-that-be seem to be impressed with the most at any one time. Personally, I know of nobody that's actually had this supposedly dreadful illness, I certainly know of nobody who's died from it. And I view with the deepest suspicion claims that this illness is actually a serious threat to the vast majority of society.

I don't believe you. That's the long and short of it. My view is that the meek acceptance of the random draconian, inconsistent, and incomprehensible rules were being subjected to is a far greater threat to our society than some previously unheard-of virus with a greater than 98% survival rate.
