It's got me

Hope it doesn't bite too hard on either of you! Bad luck on the timing.

I've been doing an LFT every morning as we have had some visitors last week and more tomorrow and fingers crossed it's been clear so far. Just hope we can get through the holidays without incident.

Unless of course Boris cancels everything tomorrow..........

Thanks yes at the moment symptoms not to severe my son has very mild symptoms he can't have the vaccine due to a reaction that hospitalised him with the first jab pfizer thanks for the kind wishes.

It does seem to be true what they say that as this thing develops, it becomes less serious and easier to catch. Which I'm told is how these things tend to go. Makes sense I suppose. If you infect someone and they croak, then you croak too, but if they are not too bad, you can spread to lots of other people.

Anyway, hopefully all will be fine and the symptoms remain minor.

Currently in negotiations with Mrs 20-250 in relation to a possible relaxation of my self isolation to enable me to move the fox I just shot from the bedroom window. I received my test result when the .22 rimfire and five subsonics were in the bedroom with me. One rat and one fox down, three bullets left.

Sorry to hear it got you. Hope your on the mend. BTW I love your avart, alway enjoyed the film Dune a timeless sci-fi film IMO. Cheers E.

Well for me it was day of flu and nine days of boredom. So get some newspapers in, plenty of non-alcoholic fluid to drink and wait it out. As for your work colleague coming to work with it I'd not judge too harshly. If he/she works as many do on an agency contract they get but £96 for the week as Statutory Sick Pay. If this Government were serious about stopping covid spreading instead of giving grants to "hospitality" to bail out amomngst others Johnson's Weatherspoon's mate Tim Martin they'd have paid employees off with covid a grant exactly equally to the person's wage that their agency wasn't paying them when sick . But no. £96 it is and, yes, where I was working there were (not me I was glad of the time off) in fact people coming there who had covid. Because it was that of not be able to pay the rent and etc. due that week.

their is a £500 grant you can claim for self isolating after a positive PCR test but good luck trying to claim it, it is means tested and a nightmare if self-employed end result the gain is not worth the pain of claiming, so not surprising some will carry on working.

Swept through our house last month 4 unvaccinated 1 vaccinated no difference in severity. second time ive had it even being on 3 vulnerable lists. All been blown totally out of proportion and probably spread more by vaccinated people than the unvaccinated

As I am self employed and don't meet the criteria I won't be applying for the grant thanks for the support.

I wish you all the best and to get well soon.
Having been in hospital with it last xmas it certainly put a damper on last years festivities.

Apparently 80% of post covid patients report suffering a variety of long covid symptoms.

Not so everywhere, see Japan:

The safe and effective prevention of viral reproduction within the patient is not hard to achieve.
🤔
Get well soon to all suffering from the omicron - the good news is that there are only 40 or so patients in hospital because of it in the UK, according to the latest stats, despite there being now over one hundred thousand cases currently live, so you should be fine, but watch for the long tail, that is the bit we wish all to avoid.
