Your definition of science as eye witness observation comes straight out of Creationist/Intelligent Design playbook.
It's a definition that has been used to try to deny evolution - the argument being that because there were no eye witnesses to it, evolution cannot have happened

Sorry, but once again, what makes your opinion any more valid than those of others on here? You still haven’t explained your qualification to take your higher ground..... I’m only guessing here, but would it be because you too are a lay-person and have no such basis upon which to question others?

It was, a sedative, and taking it resulted in very severe birth defects.
Its now use (apparently) to treat some cancers and complications in Leprosy ?

I am searching for that data now.
IIRC, it was based on US west coast and Paris autopsy data. I.e. once the virus started taking lives in the April 2020, some researchers performed autopsies that showed folk who had died in 2019 had the virus in their bodies.
But rather than dredge from memory, I will try to relocate data. It is a fair question. [I have migrated PCs in the last two weeks and some data did not make it on to the new platform...]
That said, even if we accept China's official day 0, [mid November], then we still have 4 months in which the virus was jetted around the world by our very mobile global population.
