Sadly Peter Wilson of the Gunshop and Reloading in Thanet ,Kent has passed away due to corvid was taken into hospital around the 5th of December and has now passed away , he was a very intelligent man on the issue of firearms and was often consulted on law relating to firearms even by firearms officers , thoughts are with his family by everybody who new him !!!!!!!!!

Thank you RD. I visited the shop on a number of occasions whilst over seeing pals in nearby Ringwould and found him a true gentleman who was very knowledgeable and helpful in my looking for a good recipe for my newly acquired 8mm Mauser.
Sympathies go out to the family from NI.

Very sad news, only ever good things from Peter, he offered advice and set up my gear that put me on the trail of reloading and over the years a genuine and knowledgable supporter for shooting in any discipline and his love for double rifles he kept in the shop, a real gent who will be sadly missed

Sad news. I knew Peter only from a handful of phone conversations about double rifles, but learned much from him on each occasion and always appreciated his taking the time to talk me through the key points. I have no doubt he will be very much missed, and offer my sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

No do not remember Colin or sue being members but do remember their shop in Ash up by the pub.
Sue was a family friend came round for meals chats etc and when John died she took over the shop and then later married John Hills a plumber, they moved up north to Newcastle way and I heard no more. There was a pistol club located in an old quarry somewhere behind Ash or Goodnestone and there was a steel container for target stands etc and it got broken into, I was never a member just a visitor when I was back in the UK, my main club was the Deal & District Rifle Club.
I remember the tale of Peter during the 97 pistol ban with the hand in of pistol ammo to the governments buyback scheme, I asked him if it was true and he grinned and nodded. A gent in my book.

This is very sad news and a shock to me. I visited the shop a few months back, and for many years its was my go to shop as I lived about 2 miles from it. What a shock and a loss. My sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
