Organizing a Hunting trip/exped

Only thing I can add to this that will help is, 'work on your fitness'. I see far to many people who are unfit and overweight. That might be ok off a highseat but if you are going to Scotland or even abroad you may be doing a lot of hiking.

I can now preach as I have lost half a stone and my fitness is reasonable to what it was.....

Of course, we are a pretty fit family, but my uncle has got a dodgey heart so might have to tailor the trip for him.

I’ve done this a few times,
First thing decide what you want to go after, maybe be a bit foreign ?
I’m personally a big fan of nice warm beds and good food and accommodation at the end of the day, but if you’re happy to bivvy in a refuse sack that’s your choice.
Set the dates in concrete and get deposits.
How much do you have to spend?
1K can go a long way, if it was me I’d go a bit exotic, whitetail or moose but I’d happily trot along on a mackerel bash in the bay, it’s going to be about the company.

I think the family will be more than keen to get abroad, especially after the rona. Im in agreement with the nice warm beds with good food and accomodation, nice a cosy after long day out!

I rekong £1,000-1500 is a realistic starting point. I dont want to be paying a bloody fortune. like you say, its all about the company

For that price you should be able to get something decent, moose, boar, whitetail maybe, Spanish Aoudad?
Or a May roebuck Hunt, probably best of the lot.

For that price you would definitely get a 3 day driven boar trip and the people that usually go on these trips are always good company.

Hi Eddie, the price of boar hunts seam to have dropped . it has been a few years since I organised any but I could never find anything south of 2K for 3 days. what is the reason for the drop. By the way yes that is good value.

I have found that due to the growing popularity of Driven Boar trips more 'Agents' are charging more because people are willing to pay more.
The only reason I have access to cheaper trips is because I have found out what the local organisers charge and a friend that lives over there is willing to arrange trips at the local rates.
So I would not say it has got cheaper at all just stayed the same over there but UK agents find people over here are willing to pay more.
I have been taken, at local rates, to places that I have been taken in the past by UK 'Agents' that charged almost double the cost!!

If you want a good value Boar trip I would advise going with George, Hungarian Hunter on this site. Having been on several trips with friends and clients with George, and taken many of his clients stalking. I doubt you will find a more honest man in the Driven Boar business.

However when someone turns up with a "cheap-looking" offer usually gets the comments like "too good to be true"... 😜

Up until now most of the hunters are regulars and having been taken to places UK agents charged a lot more for so not always true.

Drop me a PM with your details. I have been organising and running trips to the highlands for 34 years. All in including pick up and return to Inverness, all meals home cooked, vehicles, fuel, guides, 2 stags, one red and one sika, 6 days. Heads boiled out and capped off included, licences for overseas clients.
Total acerage is in the area of 25,000 acres on one area, 35,000 on another and the smaller one is 7000. All in the far highlands near Dornoch. We can normally take 4 rifles per day. Two on reds and two on sika. On sika you will have a guide each.

All you have to do is turn up with your clothes and rifle (or use one of ours) and we do all the rest for you. Plenty of references available, overseas and in the UK.

Good luck with your search.
Hi do organise trip for a single person as well.
Please let me know thanks

Yes. No problem. Have sent you a PM. If we cant fit you in for Scotland 2021 we can look at maybe a 3 to 4 day trip for Fallow, Roe, CWD and Muntjac later in the winter. We can arrange accommodation too. Just let me know via PM your mobile number and we can look at options.

Thank you
