This is a screenshot display of the main Forums page.
It's a minimalist view I've set up for my own use, so this will look different to what everyone else sees.

Is there any difference in the content which is returned when clicking on the 'New posts' button on the left (under Forums) and the big 'New posts' button (with the lightning symbol) on the right? Or does each have the same function? Don't know the answer, so just curious.

They are exactly the same.

Looking at the site I’m thinking an Ad Block charge might be a good idea though!

No sweat here, this is just a speed read to see the titles of New Posts as a Guest.
I only login to post to avoid unnecessary calls on the server.
Daft I know, but old habits die hard.
