Hi all,

Just come to the horrifying realisation that Lapua 223 brass has gone from about £55 odd per 100 pre-CV19 to £70.

All quality Lapua and Norma brass has shot up in price.

Price increases seem to be across the board!

Remembered that I had bought 100 Norma 223 cases off @R. Macleod & Son for £57 odd a while back, so I phoned them up and was lucky to get two more bags at the same price.

I think they have 4 bags left, hurry!

It's ok lads, just read their small print for why the cost is so high...

Lapua 223 brass sold by SGC is guaranteed to reload itself and give you a maximum group of .224 at 1000m 😊

BARGAIN!

More likely to be a Brexit hike than COVID fallout. VAT issues.VAT
VAT on goods leaving the EU should be Zero, so with VAT in Sweden at 25% and VAT in the UK 20%, things should be cheaper regards VAT. Customs charges might make a difference, but that is down to our own jobsworths.

As stated before, there is a massive difference in price depending where you shop. Brass for my 17 hornet is £32 from one supplier and £47 from another. This has been like this since August 2020, so not new.

It pay to shop around.

Not really.

I've gone through a few paper (solid evidence that can't be edited!) 2020 catalogues and found they have all slapped a sizeable % onto the brass when looking at their current (online) prices.

Unless it's stock that they have had to buy in and face an increased rate on themselves, it seems a bit unfair to hike the price on stock that was already sitting on a shelf.

The 223 Norma brass quoted in my first post was advertised on here a while back, I bought a bag. They have not advertised it on their website and still have a few left (maybe not since I posted!)

I have a supplier that was out of stock and got me 50 cases in at £32, so new stock not old. There is a vast difference in prices. Suppliers can charge what the want and that is fine, I just saying shop round. Also P+P is an interesting one.
