Do foxes take lambs?

A fox will eat anything it can get in its mouth. New born lambs are no problem to a fox. Also domestic pet cats too. They may not all take on the local cat population, but some will and have perfected it. Roe kids too are no problem to a Fox, seen this a few times over the years. Also Foxes seem to be getting a lot bigger these days. Dog Foxes over 25 to 30lbs are not that uncommon these days.
 
Be real nice if us guys could film a few of these animals in the act with the old thermal to educate the public.
I have not had the chance yet myself, and probs filming a fox in the act is the last thing you think about whilst trying to get on shot.

They most certainly do up here in the lakes fells, nothing else to eat up here, I’ve shot numerous foxes operating in lambing fields, I watched one, watching the farmer on his last look around the sheep before Catching some sleep, soon as the gate was shut it was down into the field trying to separate 2 twins from the ewe, suckled vixens are the worst culprits.
 
Pal shot two last night in same lambing field - one actually attacking a lamb but forgot to put card in Pard! Numpty!! That makes 7 in same field in last 10 days so I wonder what the attraction could possibly be? Go figure.....

Yes they do, in the past 7 years we have only had lamb taken by a fox flock of around 190 ewes, not really a massive problem in some places but then in others they take 4/5 a year out of a flock of 100
 
I've seen foxes take lambs out on the hill in Scotland and also on the Cotswolds and elsewhere in England. My last wife and I spent many hours sat out on the hill and on fields in England to eliminate the problems. However the bumbly old badger can be even worse. I have seen a badger bite half the head off an inquisitive lamb that approached him. Twice in the same field on the same night, took me all my time to resist squeezing.
 
A local keeper was getting pained by the estate owner about lamb losses and was sure he had cleared most of the foxes but they were still having one or two a night taken.
That night he sat in a high seat and a while later along came a badger and took an killed a lamb, the keeper unable to shoot it so he shouted bang and the badger must have hit its head on and rock and was killed.
When the estate owner drove past in the morning it was still there with the lamb in its mouth.
He was so surprised.
 
Local farmer to me was losing a dozen a week..... a Puma or Panther. Watched it for nearly an hour on the wrong side of a Rylok fence. It was seen crossing a field 1km away that week. The REDDIST eyes i have ever seen, like brake lights.
But of course, they don't exist.

Got the call from the keeper yesterday farmers losing 9 lambs from one field in just over a week 3 foxes later lambs still getting taken. Been asked to check the dens today, I’ve taken 7 off this ground previously this year and the keeper reckons he’s had 40 from the surrounding area, seems a lot of foxes for the ground to support. We suspect the local animal shelter has dumped some in the area.
 
Maybe the question 'do foxes take lambs' should be put to the 'experts' who no doubt will soon be gracing our screens again on spring watch......🦊🐑🦊🐑
 
whist out lamping with a pal in mid wales i came across 2 foxes trying to take a lamb being born and a second half way out one fox was wainting for the second to drop i dear say both got punished
