I notice a couple of UK outlets are advertising that they have
LeHigh Defense High Velocity Controlled Chaos Copper 308 CAL 115Grn Bullet (100 Pack)
in stock.
Given the current scarcity of some non-lead bullets in deer suitable calibre, I wondered if anyone had any experience of these? If so what powders are you using and how good are they at dropping deer?
The manufacturer's descriptions make them sound good, but that's not always the whole story.
Their own load data and MV's are quite impressive - from a 16.5" barrel too!

( I have VV N135 which I'm guessing might be OK, but no data available that I can find.
Reloader 10X is the only powder listed by Lehigh that I can get locally,
but I don't want to buy 100 bullets and a new powder unless there's a strong possibility they are really effective)

So grateful for any experience anyone can share.

Thanks,

Alasdair.

I have a box...and will be going to use N135 with them...that is what I use with the 110gr TTSX V-MAX and 130TTSX FOX and 136 Peregrines.

Lockdown and a neighbour complaint has screwed my range access and load development so I won't get to try them on Fallow this year, it will have to be Muntjac and/or Roe over the next couple of months.

Running it through P-Max, it looks like N135 would be suitable powder for this projectile, but perhaps a little slow and N133 might be a better choice - especially in a barrel length much shorter than 24 inches.

Use the Vihtavuori data for the 123 gr FMJ Lapua bullet as your guide and you should not go far wrong.

I'm using a 20.5" barrel Sako 85
