Q on torque for scope rings and the Wheeler FAT wrench

Years ago I was taught how to put roughly the correct torque on scope mounts by hand. More recently I seem to be setting up other peoples rifles for them and thought I would invest in the above torque wrench. I set the wrench to 17 lb-in for the rings as the guidance I could find reccomended but as I tightened them up I was reluctant to go much above 10. So how reliable is the wheeler calibration? .... Also, does anyone know of a record of data in one place for reccomended settings for the various brands of bases, mounts and rings?

Nightmare. You might be better off asking the members to post the make, ring type & torques as most have them on the paperwork which is often ditched once fitted. You'll get a catalogue slowly built up & admin might pin it for members refrence 👍
Not sure if TierOne, Sphur etc show it on an online spec sheet.

One set of rings I have are 15 in lbs for the top and 50 to the rifle. I have set others to similar. They are a six bolt picatinny ring.

I bought a set of those little Wheeler spirit levels years ago. Total junk. No way would I trust Wheeler for anything as important as a torque wrench. You could crimp minus £500 into a scope in a second.
