22lr slot

I just put in a variation request for a 22LR. My friend is selling a very nice semi auto that I can’t resist.

I put in for a 22LR bolt action rifle, in hindsight, should I have put down 22LR semi auto? On my variation request?

My fac cited .22 rifle.
Therefore I was free to get semi or b/a.
In any event, when the FEO contacts you about your request clarify your ‘wants’ to him or her and they’ll sort it.

Just request .22 rimfire rifle, and .22 rf ammo, if you put .22 lr you can only buy lr rifle, as with lr ammo, no shorts, longs, bb/cb caps etc if you need them. .22rf ammo covers any .22 rimfire ammo from .22 bb caps to .22 magnum. A friend of mine requested bolt action .22 lr and that’s just what he got, he also requested subsonic hollow point ammunition, and that’s what he got as well. He couldn’t even buy or possess high velocity .22 ammo. It’s easy to unnecessarily restrict yourself simply by how you word it. No need to state what type of action either, keep it simple. Every unnecessary detail could be an unnecessary limitation.

If it’s just a variation, they may or may not contact you to clarify. It depends on your situation and what you’ve requested. If you already have bigger calibres the variation will probably just go straight through if you’ve given a viable reason for your requested rifle/calibre. My last one was back in about a week, no clarification required.
