PDS1 Certificate & Proficient Deer Stalker Training vs DSC1

Im offering BS1 and BS2 - Electric Boogaloo. Only 3k each. I have several medals for heroism. I also run a club called the Caprisun club. It provides people who have too much money with a means to get rid of the money. PM for details.

Hi guys! I have also just done my PDS1 and in fact it is accredited by LANTRA and UKRS, which more than I can say about the DSC1, which doesn't seem to be accredited by anyone.:-| At any rate, I found the course to be excellent and what's more I was able to do the theory part on the hunting academy website online, which for someone like me, new to stalking, was super helpful as I can revisit the course as many times as I like. I have also done the skills part of the course with Peter Jones and found the whole set up to be brilliant. I have also now applied for my FAC and the police seem more than happy with the PDS1 accreditation🤞🤞
Well that was very much my experience too... and as far as Kent Police were concerned it seemed to carry a lot of weight with my FAC variation application. I just wish I'd listened to James Mott's advice to buy the biggest gun cabinet I could afford and had space for 🤣

hi peter, welcome to the site

As I mentioned in the other thread….

Joined in February, only three posts - all yesterday, six months after joining - of which two are to revive ancient threads and tell us how wrong we all are and how great PDS1 is.

Not so much Mushy as Fishy!
True enough.
I don't have any issue with what this guy is offering with his 'qualification', he has seen a way of making money, good luck to him, as long as he is open and honest.
But, isn't this 'trading' on this site via the 'back door' without taking out a trade membership?
Cheers
Richard

I'm obviously far too naive and trusting... but I really found them helpful.
And in case you think I'm somehow in league with them, I haven't had any contact with them since I did their PDS1 day 🤣🤣

PDS1 may be accredited by Lantra and UKRS but can you tell me which of the forestry companies it is recognised by? I can't see why anyone would choose this course over DSC1 and 2 knowing if they wanted to stalk on FC ground It is not recognised by them.

No
Have you got any experience with any DMQ qualifications or any other courses for that matter, to compare with?
I take it as a no…
I haven't done any DMQ qualifications. But I thought this place is about sharing opinion. Have you done PDS1, because if you haven't you cant compare it either.

Just out of curiosity, what was it that made you choose the PDS1 over the DSC1? was it the course content or the availability or something else.

I’ve got DSC 1 and 2 so no need for PTSD or whatever you want to call it…

I might not live up to Peter Jones expectations, as apparently everything he does is a master class and don’t know if I can compete with my army medals against his commendation for bravery…

He certainly knows how to wave his willy !

Some of the rifle handling displayed in the video above is quite poor IMHO.

Sad that the UK does not have much of a hunting culture to speak of and this void is viewed as a profit making opportunity!

Look at other countries and their hunter saftey/training programmes. Too much back scratching going on here... makes me sick!

Ive done both PSD1 and DSC1 (PSD was a gift from my wife when i first started looking at stalking in the UK ) DSC1 is a lot harder and involved ! , I walked into the PSD with no knowledge or revision etc , but to be fair it was recognised when applying for my first grant

Whose your FEO ? I’ve dealt with most of the current line up over the last few years

The LANTRA website says it's certificates are for life, but MUST be updated every 3 to 5 years to remain lawfull.
I think I will stick with the DSC 1and 2.

It ticked all the boxes for me. Its accredited/recognized course that police is happy with and you can do it online at your own pace. Within few weeks I was ready to apply for my FAC. As a full time working mother I could not spare 3 full days to do my training. And all other experience will come with time, like with everything in life.
