Range Day, Sunday 5th September, Grayrigg, Cumbria

On a Sunday ?
No.

It was a précis.

I knew what I meant!

I am beating on Saturday.
I live in Gloucestershire.
It is the second beating day of the Season.
I am unfit.
I was knackered after the first day beating on Wednesday.
I compounded the exertion/exhaustion/stiffness/aches and pains by doing a 90 mile round trip to the rifle range at Monmouth on Wednesday evening after beating.
With that experience and recognising my frailty, I don't fancy the 220 mile trip up to Cumbria on either Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.
I am on the rota for Mum's meals on wheels on Sunday evening.

I will attend and am looking forward to another Grayrigg BDS day in the future on a less crowded weekend schedule when it doesn't clash, and I can combine it with other geographically compatible activities. Such as last time, collecting Salmon Faverolle chickens in Ormskirk and visiting an old school friend near Loweswater.

TMI? I bet you wish you hadn't queried it now! :)

I enjoyed the day I spent at Grayrigg the last time and wished to encourage others to take the opportunity.

Ha ha no not at all I'm in the borders shooting partridge Saturday Sonam early start also for me.Luckily enough it's fairly local so I can get a lie in.Good luck with the beating and perhaps see you at the next one Alan.

I have had to dip out, last minute, I was going to ask ED to bring some PRC but owing to needing a variation, my ticket has gone in to the FLO + it's been a bit warm @ 12/14 degrees, even with the ice packs, for the Buck to stretch out his stay in the motor over two more days.:(

A very good day with over 25 people attending

Well done to all taking part - some outside comfort zone with the course of fire but obviously enjoying the experience and learning from it (which is what it’s about)

Next range day will hopefully be at a news venue depending on it being approved for use

Further details as and when we can confirm this

Thanks to all who helped out on the day and to the 25 plus who attended to shoot.

Congratulations to the 'medal positions' in the skills test: 1st Simon Roch with a score of 112, 2nd Ben Roch with 89, 3rd Peter Morell with 77 points and to all who took part!

Hi Nick.
Totally missed this one. I live in Norfolk but work in Barrow. Would have enjoyed the day. Will you have anymore date's coming up soon?
All the best Gary

The next planned range day is 31st oct

There should be notification sent out soon by BDS HQ and an advert on here

Unfortunately, we've had to shelve plans for the range day on 31st October.

We've had some good days this year, helped by some great weather, and we look forward to seeing you next year. BDS North West is grateful to the number of folk who helped out and especially to Ed Bewsher and his team for coming down with an extensive array of non-lead for people to try out.
