Looking to change the stock on my 243 tikka t3x , its ok but not as comfortable as my sako 85 synthetic . Whats out there that doesnt need gunsmith fitting ?

I went to SGC in Exeter for a Boyds thumghole stock for a T3/T3X Varmint. After trying three that had been labeled wrong by Boyds, fitting one that was corrected labeled was dead easy. The difference in the price direct from Boyds and the SGC retail price is quite a bit, so last night I ordered a Boyds At One stock direct from Boyds. Fingers crossed!

Have had all my rifle gunstocks made by Steve Parker at Parmoor gunstocks. Mine are tailored to suit me is I am "Cack handed", left hand thumbhole and right hand action. Fitted at home, my .223 stock was sent to me unfinished so that I could lovingly apply multiple coats of Truoil to my satisfaction.

Get a Boyds from USA.Good quality laminate and can be specified with pillars if required. Not expensive and delivery in about 3 weeks. All I had to do was clean out some burrs on the screw holes for a perfect fit.I coated it in some 10 coats of Tru Oil but the standard finish is very good.Richard.

I have an MDT ESS chassis that will be up for sale in the near future, I'm not sure if it is the sort of thing you're after but they're a very solid and accurate system.

My 6.5x47L will shoot easily sub 0.25" groups with it with scary regularity when I do my part, so the V block bedding does really work and the MDT quality and feel is exceptional IMHO.

Definitely worth a look if accuracy is an important thing, plus you just bolt it in and go!
