Idiots that own dogs.

Quite a famous encounter I think.

Would you stand in a field shouting at a member of the public while you are carrying a firearm, and being videod?

Trying to ‘educate’ in this manner will only inflame the situation. She wont be educated. Blaming dogs for chasing deer and injuring them to a dog walker who is clearly anti is just a waste of time and might lead to a rise in passions, and of course only the firearm owner will be dealt with by plod.

As for why hes a dickwad, just subscribe to fieldsports channel and watch his input. Blatant untruths about lead based ammunition as well, because hes a ‘falconer’. Like many episodes on this channel - the content is largely based on what the large importers want to sell.
Not whilst carrying a firearm I wouldn't. Roy wasn't carrying a firearm either! Being videoed actually gave him a level of protection against her possible lies and he did pacify her and not inflame the situation. You're not doing too well so far!
You may not agree with everything about Roy but then, find a man or women who you do. If Roy is a dickwad then every person in the world is too, bar you of course!

His mate clearly was carrying.

Pacify? Opinion, not fact.

Plenty of people I agree with. But they have above average IQ. Again, my opinion.

Is Woy your special mate? The bloke is a buffoon. Do I need to state...my opinion...?

Baguio- that SD stalwart who famously gets on with everyone?! Stones, glasshouses? Not that I mind-youre entitled to your opinion, sometimes it even makes me laugh, and to express it, and your preferred company. As am I.

I dont think that video did anyone any good-and in the circumstances, Id suggest anyone intent on ‘confronting’ a wayward member of the public, think twice, and dont raise your voice or shout across a boundary. Do so with firearms out of sight, including your companions.

Just my opinion.

But it amuses me that others think theirs is the only opinion that matters.

You seem to be a little touchy tonight. My wow face was at your terriers nailing double figures of Munties. I didn't know you had them in those numbers on your turf. Your posts interest me but don't upset me as I have taken part in every form of fieldsport, including being a terrier man and enjoyed running dogs as much as anybody when it was legal. A hare can be difficult as any ex coursing man would know, but that dog was extremely fit the way it ran. My problem lies with townie "Messer's" who come into the country with a bundle of dogs totally untrained and allow their animals to chase deer all over the place when we are trying to cull the fallow population because the whole country knows there are too many. I don't think you could teach me too much about real life and even death animal or human but there we are, no pretence as you say.
I seem to have touched a sore spot for which I apologise if that is fact, but cannot understand how a wow face can do that, I would use Mr angry if I didn't like something. Ah well as Zebedee said "Time for bed" things to do tomoz so my evening has been slightly short of exceptional, though the day was good.😴
My recollection is that it was always Florence who said "Time for bed" I believe Zebedee's party piece was "Boing". :)

I wasn't aware that it was a popularity contest. I don't know Roy or have any affiliation with him. However, she was pacified. Without shouting they wouldn't have heard each other. "Would you stand in a field shouting at a member of the public while you are carrying a firearm, and being videod?" Your words. The person carrying a firearm never said a word so you have changed that bit to suit your own agenda. Standard for a lot of people I guess? You do make me laugh. Do you work for Boris as his adviser?
He could have left her thinking that he was taking out the prime animals which would have resulted in her telling the world about the wrongs of deer stalking which wouldn't have been in our best interests.
Can't see anyone saying that their opinion is the only one that matters. Again, you're making to suit your own agenda!
Perhaps you should get out in the real world. Find yourself in that position and see how you react. I have been in a similar situation BTW but then, I actually go stalking sometimes! :tiphat:

I got bitten by a Rottweiler while stalking a few years ago, the hospital reported it to the police as it happened on a foot path, when interviewed the police were told his coat smelt of deer and her dogs don't like deer.So remember always wash your stalking clothes before you go out or your asking for it..

Why do so many threads end in the same way, people just slagging other people's opinion and accounts , exaggerating the original write up and then bullying comments until others agree with what they think is right and of course after 5 mins in the game know everything. Before long folk just won't bother posting anything because the keyboard warriors jump straight on them along with their merry men.

Some of the exchanges on here (any social media) would just not happen in the 'real' world.

In the real world, there is always the risk of being put on your arse.

In the real world, people look you in the eyes, when you give an opinion.

In the real world, people know who you are, when you give an opinion.

On the tinternet, no one knows who you 'really' are.

No one knows, how unfulfilled you really are.

No one knows, how lonely you have become.

No one knows, that you are 'posting' in your pyjamas, have not bathed for three weeks and are living on Pot Noodles.

Yeah, the tinternet, where Trolls thrive...

In the real world, name calling and abusing people isn't acceptable. Sadly on here Admin appear to be perfectly happy with it and even join in on occasions! You couldn't make it up!

I think there is a very real cut off point, when someone persistently steps over the mark the axe usually falls.

Why pick up on minute points about the bloke in the video at all, or indeed the OP's account of the savaging of the muntjac? They were just offered as examples of the point in question, which is, if I understand the OP correctly, the broader subject of the conduct of recreational dog walkers in the countryside.
That should be a very interesting topic on a forum such as this where a lot of us will have feet in both camps. Instead it gets dragged down the blind alley of obsessing about details. Why does this have to happen all the time?

Exactly 👏

Happens all the time

When arguing and name calling ,one upmanship and trolling are banned then forums of any sort become obsolete .
Treat them as a bit of fun and all falls into place ,treat its members as uneducated fools and things tick along nicely .
Thinking we are all equal dosnt work for we are clearly not .
Listen and take from each what you require and bin the rest of the crap along with the writer .
There are very many on here I think don’t have a fecking clue about the countryside and how it works ,preferring to spend time in likeminded company learning nothing .
A recent cull I was on in the company of so called trained deer managers opened my eyes further to the fact I am indeed a god among men in the way I carry myself in company ,the way I deal with everyday facts and the skills required to carry out those facts .
Having had to pts 7 deer from 7 seats all shot by smiling idiots ,it sort of hits home how fecking good I actually am .😎

Urban myth? I see numerous signs to that effect on farms I shot for...

'Contrary to popular belief, a farmer does not have a legal right to shoot a dog that is worrying their livestock - what they have is a legal defence. Shooting a dog must be a last resort. Dogs are classed as property so shooting a dog could trigger criminal damage proceedings and the farmer will have to prove he had a ‘lawful excuse’. The farmer will need to show that his sheep were in immediate need of protection, and that his actions were reasonable having regard to all the circumstances.'

The later Animals Act 1971 act seems to make the role of defending livestock by stock owner or their proxy a little clearer.1644173178885.webp
