Sounds like good news ? Trophy ban

I wrote to my MP on the issue. They know the score, they need every vote they can muster in rural constituencies post-Shropshire by election and the fuel crisis.

I'm glad to see it's met with resistance. I fully-support the elimination of puppy farms, but existing legislation is sufficiently-robust to deal with offenders. The proposed ban of trophy imports was nothing other than a spiteful attack on something absolutely vital to the economy in many parts of Africa and Europe. Once again, it seems power is being abused in favour of personal opinion and offence.

This is interesting now as there is a problem in the ranks of the ban trophy hunting brigade. Lord Ashcroft has said carrie Johnson is influencing Boris on government issues as we have all seen in the press recently. These 2 are the major players in ban trophy hunting so something seems to have broken down somewhere. Ashcroft was behind the Lion issue a few years ago along with Carrie Johnson, Eduardo Goncalves and the snake Peter Carr.
Lets hope it all goes away.

I would hold-fire on polishing the floorboards in anticipation of a new zebra rug:

“The influential Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation, which includes Carrie Johnson, Dominic Raab and Lord Goldsmith among its patrons, plans to throw its weight behind any challenger (for the Leadership) who backs the welfare legislation.”
