Tom may i just say there was no luck involved with my getting good ground to control deer on.( HARD GRAFT YEARS PAST AND MORE KNOCK BACKS THAN I CAN MENTION) Most that do moan about it have not ! put in the effort. Now before you say i have tried and so has others ******** if you have tried hard you would have stalking. Now if you stayed local to your own areas and only ventured out for what i call a fun day away then the local chaps no matter were there from would have a beter chance. Its simple maths there are to many deer SNH say so. There are to many deer the DI say so some one needs to fill the void some were.

davie i k
now fine well theres a lot of doorknocling and hard work to put in to get stalking i have stalking within a half an hour of home and i have lost land to a golf course development and like yourself i have had my ups and downs my
with permissions but there are a lot less people in scotland chasing stalking thanthere are in england you havent a clue how many doors ive knocked on .you just keep going on about local stalkers when every week there are stalkers travelling the length and breadth of the country stop moaning about us english coming up and taking all the leases as they put a lot of money into some local communities

6P your starting to sound very bitter, personally I couldn't give a rats arse as to what you think about people wanting to join syndicates in the far reaches of the country. People have travelled to Scotland to stalk deer since deer were found there. Now as for local lads doing the job better, wouldn't it be up to the leasee to decide upon that no one else? If the locals can't afford the going rate, that's their issue no on else's, if they can and apply and are successful (and fit all the criteria-set by the shoot cap) great!!! If I was the author and indeed the leasee in question here I'd told you to stop adding worthless tripe to this thread. It really is tiresome.

Hi Everyone, i will get back to you all but it is the weekend and i have a lot of replies to send.
Please bear with me your interest is appreciated.[/QUOTE

Well the weekend has passed and the next coming fast. But still no reply through the forum or from PM. Have you got some hidden agenda to do with this advert. Please have the courtesy to send replies (even if you change your mind or have already let it).
Thanks

Likewise no reply to pm.

Hi this is just what I am looking for. Can you please give me details of where in the Borders it is.
Please note I am a single gun but happy to join a syndicate.

I appreciate your enthusiasm to get some stalking but straight in gimmi gimmi gimmi, is not polite way to go about it, there are site rules, the first one is introduce yourself to the site members. Next I would suggest you do not ask what can I get out of the site, but what can I offer to the site? Even if it is not stalking related, because what you give will no doubt be paid back with interest if you are willing to wait.

I look forward to your intro';)

could you let us know the approx location / nearest city, and desired annual price tag please. I'm sure there's nothing so secret it has to go via PM about that ;) I'd be potentially interested in some more ground, esp. if Sika is available, but not required. Also, location would be key.

For example, I have a few pieces of stalking in the borders, one of which is over 1000 acres, and I can take 25 deer off per annum. I pay, lets just say, well under £1k pa, so before swamping you with another PM, just let us know an approx price, it would be very helpful in determining whether it's worth thinking about.

I do also agree with Thar, it's also about what you can add to the ground as a deer manager - screw DSC1 if you've got years of experience and great at what you do, what's the point,,,and a syndicate mainly just wants bucks, which is sending me a warning signal that your land is going to be expensive, and not managed too well by the tenants!....

why not find a 1-person tenant like yourself, who can do the job..or is it that by splitting it up, more rent can be obtained..

Thank you for your most straight forward reply and am sorry if you think it is "gimmi gimmi gimmi" I only replied to an advert.
Again I am sorry if I have not used the correct protocal in replying to the advert.
I have just joined today seeking ground to stalk on, pure and simple.
I have just returned from working overseas, having had to give up my ground before going abroad.
Very sorry that I have wasted your time in you replying but thank you for putting me straight.

LOL...the rules are you have to introduce yourself, etc. etc..but how are you supposed to know that? it's quite comical, I think when I first joined SD, I had no clue I had to 'introduce myself' first either, so I got the old ...who are you to come on here and post a comment without properly introducing yourself first, etc. etc. LOL...take it with a pinch of salt.

I don't think the person posting the advert gives a monkey's whether you have introduced yourself first or not either TBH, they're looking to lease-out a piece of land for stalking, not to offer a deal to the Stalking Directory 'club' exclusively.

To whoever posted the Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie thing,,,shame on you, this chap saw an advert and expressed an interested,,,how was he supposed to know about the politics going on when joining the Stalking Directory community,,most other forums are not like that....are you feeling challenged because someone who's not normally here might get the land you're hoping for?

Edit: Thar,,just noticed that was you - LOL....I expected better from a man your character - LOL...no need to be so rough on these new recruits, they might be sensitive you know.

Thank you for your comments and support, but after just replying to 1 advert and getting the first responce like I did, I think I will give this site a miss.
I have no doubt that there are a lot of very good people contibuting and helping others on the site.
As to introducing myself I could tell you anything I wanted true or false, I filled in what was required of me, so do not see what the problem is.
Again thanks.

I too am disappointed at not getting a reply to my PM, 5 days after sending. I appreciate that donkeytwist may have had a large response, but most people were probably asking the same questions (Whereabouts in the borders? Roughly speaking, how much will it cost?) that could be answered with one post, and then ask people who were still interested to PM him their details.

Hi PLK

I didn’t mean to put the chap of the site, but if he thought I was a little rough it is a good job he had not upset 6p or Widows Son, I have to admit it does p!ss me off, stalking is hard to come by even for me and I live in the centre of some of the most available stalking areas. If I was to offer any stalking and a few lads off here are in my syndicates I would always give lads off here who had been around a while and give good vibes a chance before any newbie who first post was asking for a place. It takes years even decades to get the right contacts and brakes to get the right ground.

As for not knowing that a newbie needs to introduce themselves well there is a clue at the top of the page, it says funny enough:- Introductions.

If David H does not continue with the site well, who loss is that? There is so much to be gained from the site if you can be bothered to just put a bit in.

David you say you could lie in your intro’ yes you could, but the stalking world is a very small one, and if you were to get the benefit of the site one day you would have to meet some of us, so sooner or latter that you would be found out.

David I would ask you to stay with the site, like anybody that enters a new environment be polite follow the site rules and you could get the stalking you seek.

While you might find some of my posts sharp, I don’t really intend to hurt anybody, unless you are a 6.5X55 user as well.

Hey what's wrong with the 6.5x55?
At least it doesn't go crash bang wallop like a 270!

Eddie I guess you would have had to be around a bit longer to get the joke, it is the wallop that we like with the 270, a proper mans gun.:D
