Banning members from commenting

Can we ban other members from commenting on our sales posts ? As a trade member I can delete the comments which is rather satisfying but a bit tedious when you get a particular type that doesn't get the message 👍
PS sorry if this is in the wrong section

You can lock your own advert and, as a 'Trade Member', you can delete comments from your advert too.

It is banned on the Salmon Fishing Forum.
Not a very popular move.

My take on this is that trade members pay for the ability to post as many adverts as frequently as they want on a forum where there is a much higher probability of achieving a sale compared to other, much more expensive advertising such as magazines.
This is an open forum and members should be allowed to comment on any post, subject to moderator control

I kind of agree.

If you're selling something on here, at least you don't physically have the tyrekickers coming round to your house before offering an insultingly low price for something they indicated they would purchase at the price previously "agreed".

And it takes your advert (momentarily) back to the top.

The difference between an advert in a magazine or newspaper, compared to a post on this site, is that you do not have the opportunity to post a comment. Why anyone needs to make uncalled for or unrelated comments on a for sale post in the classified section of this site is beyond me.
If the price is not right for you, scroll on by, whether your mate or the shop down the road can do it cheaper. If the the price is too high it will probably be reduced once there is little or no interest.
But it does become tiresome for people offering goods for sale at times, and Admin.
In general the classifieds works well on this site, and the vast majority of sellers are genuine people.
