Beer fridge put to good use

I posted this awhile ago, tried to transfer post doooh... 6x2 uprights cut exactly to fit, this has worked very well for many years.

Willowbank.
dragging up an old question, I saw this. seems easy fix but have one question..... with plain wood inside the fridge, any issues with food safe/inspection for food hygiene?
thanks in advance

Hi what fridges are you guys using?
I’m looking for a fridge for the garage but there doesn’t seem to be anything local secondhand so will probably have to be a new unit

What a clever bunch of SD lads! That said and dare I even say it, the absolute best use of a Beer “fridge” is to chill beer!

Thanks for that, I’m thinking that in order to take the weight of a fallow I’d have to take the top off the fridge, see a clear way to the insulation - drill down and then through, using a steel bar at the top with an eyed bolt nylocked into the bar, with plenty of silicon sealant to air/ moisture seal the hole….. then said S hook….

Alternatively a ‘frame’ in the top that can’t fit beyond the internal mouldings….. with glue etc…as you’ve done

Anyone else any advice? We’re looking for a second hand commercial or drinks fridge, to take maybe two fallow at most….. ( we’re not that good)
You can use the drink trays if they come with the fridge, slip the meat hook over one of the bars the wire tray is welded to.

I run a metal bar through the top secured in by 2 bits of wood glued either side with some industrial type adhesive. I havnt drilled into the fridge itself at all. I’ve only had roe and munty in there but I’m not entirely sure fallow would fit.
If its the same as mine - 6ft or so - then, if the bar is high up enough it can just get a fallow in. But gave me a sleepless night or two as to whether the bar could take the weight - mine is drilled through the sites like one of the Bushwear kits.
