One for admin but I don't know who specifically to address it to, so I'll put it in here. My Selling Up thread has disappeared. I had a notification that it had been moved, but when I clicked on it it says thread cannot be found.

It's gone. Why? What was wrong with it? It wasn't a classified ad just a heads up that one was on the way as I had to rush out.

@admin could you tell me why it's vanished?
Thanks.

Life is very unsettled at the moment and owning firearms has become a burden with the licensing bureaucracy and compliance, to say nothing of all the current stalemate in getting anything done. I'm living in unsatisfactory rented accommodation and looking to move again. I haven't done any shooting for ages and guns are just one more complication I don't need anymore. I haven't got any stalking ground, I don't want to go on paid accompanied stalks. If I can't shoot by myself, for myself I'm not interested really. And I don't eat much meat anymore anyway, so what's the point?

It's cut throat everywhere trying to find ground. I have some rabbit shooting, which I was told I had to myself, but as usual someone else is on it because the landowner's son has been handing out permission as well. I've never found there is much community in shooting, nor collaboration, just jealously guarded territory and suspicion of anyone else who might encroach. There are just too many people shooting and I just can't be bothered with it anymore. I don't want to be part of that particular rat race.

I have an unblemished record so in the unlikely event I ever get some land of my own and need firearms again, there's no reason why I shouldn't reapply successfully.

It would be nice to keep a rimfire and a shotgun, but owning one firearm comes with as much baggage as owning six or sixty. If I'm going to keep one, I might as well keep them all, but I don't want the hassle.
