First buck? I think we need a write-up, tooPhoto?
There are plenty of roe that medal without being 25-26cm in length. As you alluded to, weight and volume are the biggest factors.Mm I have shot lots of bucks over the years and never shot a medalI had an 8 pointer the other day and I thought maybe bronze but I think along with weight the beam must be 26cm and mine was 25ish….. the search continues nice head though one of the few roe I’ve kept. Well done on your first and good luck if it’s a medal there are very few up here but someplaces have quite a lot
Ohh thanks for that I’ll stick it on the scales might just make bronze? This old boy is only 23cm but will likely make gold due to weight and volume. He’ll be around 600g dry.

Yeah I think mine only weights in at 550grams or something I’ll need to checkI've a gold that scored 167+ points and it's well shorter than 25cm.The difference from 25cm to 26cm in actual scoring is only 0.5 of a point so has very little impact in the actual scoring.
If it weighs 550 dry it will be borderline silver/gold. It’s certainly worth a measure!!!!! Good luck!!!Yeah I think mine only weights in at 550grams or something I’ll need to check
I thought you deducted 90g for a full skull?? I dunnoIf it weighs 550 dry it will be borderline silver/gold. It’s certainly worth a measure!!!!! Good luck!!!
Yes you do deduct 90g for a full skull but the CIC general threshold for gold is 570g full skull.I thought you deducted 90g for a full skull?? I dunno
What’s the bronze threshold?Yes you do deduct 90g for a full skull but the CIC general threshold for gold is 570g full skull.
What’s the bronze threshold?
And thanks![]()
Somewhere around 380 grams if I remember correctly. What’s the bronze threshold?
And thanks![]()
550g dry,and full skull should have you around 125 but obviously good/poor volume can swing that either way.Yeah I think mine only weights in at 550grams or something I’ll need to check
I was told 450g to be in the medals depending on volume etc (that was Chris Rogers CIC scorer who told me that)Somewhere around 380 grams if I remember correctly.
