Hello, I've done my DSC1 and a couple of paid stalks. I'm looking for some recommendations for further reading (preferably available on Kindle). Are there any must reads?

Not sure about Kindle but recommend these:

Richard Prior-
Roe Deer: Management and Stalking
The Roe Deer: Conservation of a Native Species
Deer Watch: A Field Guide

Andrew de Nahlik-
Wild Deer: Culling, Conservation And Management
Management of Deer and Their Habitat

All excellent recommendations.

I'd maybe add:

G Kenneth Whitehead-
Practical Deer Stalking

Lewis Potter-
Deer Stalking and Management

Charles Smith-Jones:
Practical Deer Management

Also a shout out for "The Complete Deer Stalker" from our own @South of the M4

Dawn Dusk and Deer by Arthur Carman is a good read.

I’d also recommend The Deer Stalkers Bedside Book by Charles Smith Jones.

You'll not regret it.

It is packed full of useful information, and the chapters on "After the Shot, to the Larder" and "Diseases and Inspection" alone are worth the purchase price.
@South of the M4 - kindle addition purchased!
Thanks guys.
Dave, as willie_gunn says, my book is biased towards recovery, lardering and inspection. It's an area that is often given scant attention, the sexy part concerning rifles and scopes seems to figure prominently in magazines, especially.
But when you have a deer on the ground in front of you, it dawns there are a lot of steps to be taken before putting the gun back in the cabinet.
I do hope my book can help guide you to setting up a process that suits your circumstances, so that your carcasses end up fuss free in the chiller or at the game dealer's premises.

Larry

I got Larry’s book for Xmas. Throughly enjoyed it even though I read it whilst laid with the dreaded ‘Vid’.
