Closest sika population to Sussex

I have heard of them in the blackboys area, apparently some got out of the park there in 87 storm and stayed pretty local...
Heard reports of them around Blackboys/Halland too. None around Wadhurst. There are some south of Ashford but that's Kent that were let out a park quite a few years back

Shot a Sika hind a few years back now just south east of my main estate in West Sussex. Or rather a client I was guiding did.

Manchurian Hind. Rumour in the area was that some had escaped from Leonards Lee? It was with a herd of Fallow doe's.

They have been wild in the Erridge area for 15-20 years
Would you think they are park escapees? I know they essentially all are but do you think they had got out then shot within a couple of weeks? Or do you think there is a breeding population wild?

Sadly a man was killed a few years back when a sika pricket went through his windscreen at Blackboys. This one was Framfield nasty leg entrapment.999CC87F-A2E4-4CF2-916E-B57EC22617B4.webp

There's a foreign chap, Polish I think, with a lot of Sika ground around the Poole Harbour area, about 50 high seats, I was told.

Bloke on here helps him with his stalking and does trips for capreolus club/ county deer stalking . Not sure if same ground but it is same guy. Think he’s a boat salesman from Poole.

With taking all 6 species in mind I would be interested to hear of the closest 'reliable' population of sika to Sussex. I know we have pockets of them here and there, but would like to go somewhere they are plentiful and you have a good chance of seeing some!
