Deer Stalking Syndicate Recommendations? A1 or shooting.sh

Being in London, I'm looking to join a syndicate with various options for stalking across the South West and further afield. Can any recommend A1decoy or shooting.sh (Bob Glynn)?
Both seem reasonably priced and fairly straight forward with outings refunded etc.
I've done my DSC1 and several paid stalks and now looking to do a bit more...
And thoughts and feedback on the above would be much appreciated!

Aren’t the two you mention the same syndicate?

I’m any case there’s been plenty written on here about them in the past. Maybe the search function would help you…..

Was the person who runs one of the above not banned from here recently…..

Yes he was and they are the same all be it in another name from what i can work out . Most pictures i'v seen are of the same guy who I think is the owner of the shooting sh club and one other this just rings my bells ! and as to the way they charge sorry not charge but charge then rebate the charge but charge ! is like Boris Johnson explaining the Covid stay at home rules .
To the OP
find out for yourself its your cash and time but lots on this site would say RUN RUN Away .

I think there are a few members of County Deer Stalking on here. Cater very much for London stalkers. Pricey and (to me) a slightly elitist feel from the outside (their own DSC equivalent etc) but that may not be the case at all. Seems like a legit option though and none of the issues flagged for A1. Worth a look maybe.

I am a member of ShootingSh and you are correct it is the same one being advertised by Mark Curtiss of A1 Decoy.
Mark is more 'Flamboyant' with his advertising and has had more luck shooting in Dorset than I have over several years ;)
I often look at Mark's adverts and wish I'd joined his syndicate !!! ;-)
It is ideal if some of the ground advertised is in easy reach so you can visit and not get too upset if you see nothing but you will eventually if you visit often enough.

Problem with the shooting.sh set up was that some of the ground they advertised was in fact ground they had nothing to do with whatsoever.
To the OP- the advice you have been given to run away is sound.

There were a few lease payments lapsed in the past but the system for visiting any of the grounds now is that you must contact the Land owner first to make sure it is Ok to visit and that he is not spreading slurry or cutting Maize etc. Once cleared with the land owner you then inform Bob at ShootingSh HQ.
So if there were any instances of land listed not coming under the ShootingSh umbrella you would soon be told.

Sorry to disappoint you- but I saw shooting.sh advertise ground on their website which they had never had any access to. Nothing to do with a lapsed lease or a lease they were negotiating. Their claimed access to it was nothing but fiction.
I'm not saying they have no access to something they advertise now and don't care how they run their business now. Once a crowd of turds, always a crowd of turds as far as I'm concerned.

Admin was advised some months ago by a number of people on this site regarding the above. Contact was made to the said shooting organisation, and we asked them to produce a copy of the lease, with a signature to clear up any misunderstanding. We did not receive anything at all to prove access or permission for stalking on a place advertised. Shortly after I believe the photos or advert for the land was removed from their website. Hence Admin carried out a ban on this site.

I would point anyone who is thinking or trying to join any syndicate/club, call it what you will to take a look at the notes posted on the site with regards to what you should expect if your joining a syndicate. This can be found at the top of the section labelled Deer stalking available on this site.

The above is in no way defaming anyone's business. It is merely pointing out what we requested to clear up any misunderstanding, which was not forth coming.

So the way it is run now should prevent any such misunderstanding in the future.
I must admit some time ago some members did take the proverbial by not using the booking system and as a result I have turned up as others were leaving or guns already on the ground but under the new system that is never going to happen again.
I am quite happy being a member as some of the ground in Dorset is near friends of mine and quite easy to access for me.
It is a dairy farm with no woodland but Roe have been known to cross, so sometimes I am lucky and most times not but I still enjoy the open air and scenery always with the hope of seeing something.

A1 is agent for SH shooting ,you can go with Glynn £ 100 more cheaper because you are direct and not paying any agent fee.

Avoid.....
They were advertising ground I stalked on and the farmer knew nothing about it.....that is until I informed him when I saw the advert..😡😡😡

Do a search on here and you can make up you're own mind reading through responses

I have the latest up to date list of places you can shoot over as a member of ShootingSh and they all give the landowners contact details. If you intend visiting any of the grounds listed you are required to contact them before the intended visit and if all is well, not Hay making, ploughing, or harvesting etc, all the things that would make stalking un productive, then you are required to inform the HQ that you have cleared it with the land owner and intend to go.
All these reports of ground listed but not authorised or covered by the ShootingSh authority would soon show up and any members would soon want their money back, I've not heard of any recently, the last three years anyway.

In EMcC’s defence (never met the chap, could be a complete wrongun for all I know!), most of the issues with shooting.sh falsely advertising ground etc date back a few years when it was run by Bob. It’s been taken over by a new bloke (Mark maybe??) and the worst thing he did in my opinion was keep the same name for the syndicate / club.

It’s not for me and wouldn’t touch it with a bargpole (post #6 from EMcC himself tells you all you need to know tbh but Malc’s post #11 is also very telling) but EMcC has come across as quite honest and straight in this thread - firsthand experience as a member not just here-say or rumour.

Don’t bother. End of. I wasted the fees by joining and wouldn’t advise it. Majority of the shooting seems to be done by the syndicate owner, with supposedly subsidised stalks for the majority.

Bob, the owner of ShootingSh lives too far away to do much Stalking down in Dorset, Somerset or Wiltshire but since Mark Curtiss took over the advertising and living closer his pictures do give the impression that he, or his mate, is doing all the shooting.
I have been a member for quite a few years now and can remember the old problems having experienced them personally but those problems were caused mainly by members not booking on and one of the Farmers also letting his friends shoot on his ground. ShootingSh no longer has anything to do with that particular farmer.
I have no reason to post anything untrue, only the truth from my findings, if anybody else has personal proof to the contrary then please let me know.
I have been shooting in that area for the last 60 years and know some of the farmers, not only through ShootingSh but as friends, having driven tractors for some of them when hauling hay or corn.
Thank goodness the Black Crow is no longer hovering over my every post, hopefully he will be busy attending the Classes he refers to ref post 16 :)

I had permission on some ground at Belvoir Castle that ShootingSh were advertising as part of the syndicate ground. Probably about 5 or 6 years ago now. Nothing to do with members not booking on - it was blatant lies.

I didn’t realise Bob was still involved - I wouldn’t touch it with someone else’s barge pole now I know that 🤣🤣
