This evening’s meal. A venison Goulash Made from a fallow neck , I make it far too often. it has smoked paprika red wine tomatoes etc and is served on pasta and has a salad with a cheerful orange and thyme dressing .
I ate it still wearing my apron , so as to enable me to eat without fear of the spaghetti face slaps attacking my freshly washed shirt . We both ate two platefuls  View attachment 255932
Kindest regards, Olaf
That looks lovely Olaf! I might have a try of something similar.

Yes, it’s a lovely classic dish. Such a nice dish as it just works all year round. The time I made it before that was at Easter when I was in Germany, only I used wild boar and served it with Spätzle and a red cabbage and citrus fruit salad . Enjoy it mate :thumb:
Kindest regards, Olaf

Last nights dinner :

Roe Medallions, Garlic potatoes, Asparagus and Green pepper sauce, glass of Malbec.

Steak pie made with muntjac & roe top rump, and a Jamie Oliver pastry recipe that uses half butter and half cheese for the fat.

Recently got a pizza oven (just a cheap one to practice with) and also made a batch of curry goat. Inspiration struck as I looked out the window while making a batch of dough for Johnny cakes (also called festivals)
I decided to try to make a pizza base with it and shred the goat to put on top. I soo realised I didn't have enough sauce to use for base so went to plan B, tomatoe puree only to discover there wasn't any in the house, plan c it was, a Chipotle bbq sauce. Added the meat and cheese then put the curry goat sauce ontop.
Im still am amateur when it comes to making pizza so shape isn't great but the taste was amazing

It looks delicious. Necessity is the mother of invention!

What on earth are Johnny cakes?

Thank you i was quite proud! They are fried semi sweet dumplins, a half and half mix of plain and self raising flour, with some black pepper, allspice and sugar which you usually fry until golden brown and use to dip in the sauce

2kg of Welsh black beef fillet , and a 1 rib cut / rib of beef off the same beast, old pics , but I buy the same every month or 2 ( from a butcher on anglsey ) , the 1 rib is all mine lol lol, my treat to myself , usually cooked on the fire , apologies if I've posted these before lol
