Digex C50

Is the C50 image really much better at last knockings than a Wraith HD?
I cannot say as I have had nothing to do with a C50 yet, but find it hard to believe it can be much of an improvement in reality,

I would start believing! significantly more of an improvement and unlike your Wraiths 008’s etc there’s absolutely zero lag in low light, you can shoot in full colour way beyond the time the others give up and need to be blasted with a laser to see anything. Even when the light has gone and theres a little ambient moonlight you can still see your quarry without using IR in B&W mode.
I passed it off as a gimmick and sales spiel but it 100% isn’t.

You sound completely sceptical like me before I actually bought one, I had to hold my hand up and say I was wrong!

Thanks guys, the C50 is certainly popular and highly regarded. It will be a C50 for me. I have found Macleods really good price wise for my Pulsar axion2 XQ5 so will try them for a price.

I have never used my axion thermal for recording any imagery, so doubt I will need the wifi version of the C50, what are the advantages of the Wifi ? Over the nine wifi ?

If you’re not fussed about recording then go for the non WiFi which you can buy for less than £900 off quite a few of the sellers on here.
Personally I like to record stuff so the WiFi suits me and downloading is a doddle with the App also if you are out with a mate he can connect to your scope with his phone and see your view in real-time on his phone screen.

Are we really becoming a Nation of wimps wittering on about the weight of a C50??? On my rifle I don't really notice the difference from my S&B Precision Hunter.
I'm 62, been through the mill with Cancer & numerous operations and still tramp around with a heavy outfit, all be it on lowlands. This isn't willy waving or a "Redneck" attitude, I just sometimes despair. Whinge/rant over.
It's not that I can't (I chuck 70kg sheep around all day) But when I'm out for a walk with rifle, I want to make it as pleasure as possible & for me part of that is minimising the weight on my back.

Accepted & understood, but is the C50 weight really going to make such a difference?
If the spec is correct & it weighs 1.15kg then yeah- that's same as yukon I sold on as it was too heavy. Pard008 is 425g(ish). I appreciate its not as formidable at last light, but if I can see fox enough then that'll do.

The pulsar excels at low light without the ir. Using a good ir light such as a PBIR L will allow you to shoot beyond 300m but so will a standard wraith HD. On the positive side the c50 alows a greater input but doesn’t allow playback if it’s the non WiFi version .

Buy once, cry once
Buy the C50 and you'll have a scope that will do all you want and still have good used value
Buy a Wraith for cheap and you'll have scope that's nothing like as good as a C50 and will be worth next to nothing when you come to change it (which won't be long after you've bought it).
BTW discounts can be had on the C50 - I'd try Blackwood Outdoors and ask

Cheers

Bruce
If you decide on a wraith HD. I have one for sale in excellent condition with all the bits to get you started, batteries, card etc.

Mines on its way. I just wanted some more information so I didn’t buy the wrong nv.
I’ve had a few different ones.
For rabbits on my rimfire I find the photon xt hard to beat for the money.
But on the .243 I wanted a scope to cover deer and fox. I hate add on nv so I had to wait until I got the right bit of kit
And you've made the right choice. Mine lives on the 243 and is perfect for deer then foxing after dark without the need for swapping rifles, changing scopes or using add ons👍

save your money in a couple of years their will be something as good as the c50 and and lighter will be developed 😆
If you take that attitude, you'd never buy anything
New products come onto the market all the time and are usually better than what went before - but that doesn't make older kit obsolete.
Plenty people here using older NV and thermal kit and quite happy with it.

I have one
I class myself as very fit and strong - It is heavy and by the time you add mounts / illuminator it is a handful

I shoot over bait or from a tripod gun rest so no real issue for me but i can appreciate it would be a stumbling block for some.

Other than that it is brilliant

I’ve the c50 on a 243 and it’s great no felt massive weight either used on Both deer and vermin regularly and genuinely can’t fault it.Only thing I would say is remember to charge it when you get home and ensure it’s turned off after each use twice I’ve turned up at my shooting grounds with a BLOODY flat battery once was yesterday luckily enough I’d a charger in the truck so used the fag lighter to give me 10%.

Ditto. I could also add, particularly when wearing gloves, check you haven't accidentally pressed the video button when settling into the hide.
Failing to do that will get you a 1 hour video of the sky and, when the fox appears, 2 seconds of viewing then a black screen!
Done that, got the T shirt
