Following on from my Ikea carcass tray heads up, I thought I’dshare another idea I used from an item my misses bought from the same store.

It was a single fold up bed used once for a visitor and it layin the garage for ages so I thought it would be handy as a Roe skinning/carcass cradle

Ripped out the slats, binned the wheels & a few slightmods here and there and I now have a useable cradle which folds up nicely andcan be stored easily in a pick up if you should wish.

Here it is inside one of the Ikea underbed storage boxes Iuse a roe trays

I usually span some thick industrial polythene & lash off between the side supports before laying a carcass on it ( I only use the polythene once and dispose of after each carcass) but have used an old tarp (roughly lashed on to illustrate what I mean)

It probably wouldn’t have the minerals to support a red deer or heavy sikabut for a cheapo fold away trestle it suits my occasional and meagre needs :-D

Hope it inspires someone for making their own from whatever junk they have lying around.

Before I go, I’ll also show you a picture that has cost me a few extrapounds this week……I happened to need a pair of sandbags for zeroing the .270off and used what I thought were an “old” pair of the misses jeans.
Cut thelegs off and filled with some sand off the beach. Job done...

Oh dear, how wrong was I to think they were “old”…lets justsay, the cost of the replacement jeans could have bought me a complete set ofpurpose built zeroing rests. I’ll ask the next time  :doh:

Cheers
