C50 vs Wraith ultra

I didn’t either and was very cynical on some of the threads but had to hold my hand up after a few outings. It all depends on the application, still have original 008‘s sitting on my rimfire’s but for anyone buying new with that sort of budget then yes and certainly anyone foxing or stalking will see the benefits of the C50’s features.
No amount of videos or quotes will replace actual time looking through any scope, the thing I touched on earlier about being able to make out your quarry without any illumination before the shot really is a benefit out in the field and once experienced you become aware of the advantages it brings. The low light performance for stalkers is unreal, you can shoot in full colour right up to last knockings whereas your ATN’s Pards etc you will be looking at a black screen and if you can make something out it will be lagging like the clappers, the C50 doesn’t suffer from lag when the light is going.
Regarding lasers vs led ive said before since going from lasers on the Pards to led with the Pulsar I’ve noticed that less foxes seem to be aware of my presence, sometimes continuing to look and walk towards me sub 100yds with the light on them, logic says more covert but who knows, could be pure coincidence :)
@Liveonce what lasers would you say were best for use with a pard 008 on a .204 and is there much to be gained over standard IR?

Already done. Was just after any idea on timescales you were able to give as that would determine whether I hang on or buy something else.

This might not be the thread for this Q but there seem to be a lot of knowledgeable folk in here so I'll try anyway ;-)

I'm about to pick up a new .223 and put either a Pard (most likely due to availability) or C50 on top. I will probably end up reloading at some point but for now I'm just going to chuck a couple of boxes of factory through it and see how it shoots and keep things simple. Question is would either scope be any good for this basic load testing or am I better putting one of my day scopes on top until I figure out what it prefers? Sorry if that's a numpty question - not used either Pard or C50 before!

You need to see clearly and hold accuracy during load development, i personally prefer a day scope for this, rifle needs to be rested as well as possible, once your then happy with your load, then use the c50 or what ever.

First thing, being a staunch 008 fan using them since they landed over here and owning a C50 for a few months my advice would be hold out for the C50, that will be the consensus for everyone that has used both.
No NV units will have the same ability as quality glass out to longer distances but for what you are suggesting, sticking a target out at say 100yds to shoot some factory groups either of them would be adequate. The C50 would be better as it has a better zoom and finer reticle.

Anyone in notts/leics I know Hadfield have C50 in stock. They phoned to offer me one but I've said no so still couple available.
