And may well have been doing it wrong for the whole time and continue to do it wrong. When brought to task (by "some jumped up youngster") they will try to justify their shoddy and out dated practices by saying say that they haven't killed anyone YET!Bull---- what about the older guys who have been shooting over fifty years plus and have all learnt by hands on not in book or class.
No one could possibly doubt the value of experience, but it's a bit variable. There are those that are undoubtedly experts in their field who've never read a book or sat in a classroom, at who's feet the rest of us are scarcely worthy to kneel. Yet there are others who are nothing but a liability, despite years of stalking, and despite thinking that their experience makes them experts in need of no further training or bits of paper. How do you sort one from the other, without some kind of industry wide standard?Bull---- what about the older guys who have been shooting over fifty years plus and have all learnt by hands on not in book or class.
All the things that people complain that BASC are not doing are based around the fact that they only have a certain amount of money to spread about and yet when they think of a way to generate a bit more money so that they can get involved in more things you slate them. They really can’t win with some people. It is not about age or thinking you know best but the thought of groups making money yet again. Yes it would be good to know every one is safe and confident and not all gun ho'
You are jokingwhen they think of a way to generate a bit more money so that they can get involved in more things you slate them.
Your post makes no sense what so ever. The cost is up to the seller as it is with everything in life. A new person starting to shoot would have no qualifications so what would they need this card for? It's never going to be an essential so what has someone's wealth got to do with it?It was never about complaining about BASC as i am a member but more about the cost. Try to think about the cost for a new person to start shooting not all are super rich but the licence and med forms gun and gear .
Plus training and trips out. We need new members and encourage other's to take part and bring on youngsters through air rifles to full bore. And also try to teach other's we do care about animal health and our land.
Quite a few I believe, first time around. Usually the shooting, and more often than not an experienced stalker who thought that the shooting test would be the easy part of DSC1.I wonder how many people actually fail the course![]()
