I think it comes from " war head". It's a bullet.

Neither is head

but a cartridge has a head, a cartridge isnt a bullet, but a head magically becomes a bullet when it hits a target

Hornady 105gr BTHP usually works, and sometimes the old (and great!)105gr Amax would also.

Currently using 108gr ELD-M in a 9.25" twist and it's stable at sea level to 1000 yards. BC does take a bit of a hit though with SG below 1.5
