Hummingbird Hawk Moth

We have a Buddleia just outside one of the front windows and they are regular visitors along with a host of other moths, butterflies, bees and bugs.
It's also good to see a few bats flitting around a couple of feet from the window at last light catching insects attracted to the bush.

my sister has very regular visitors to buddlia and honeysuckle blooms just outside Faversham

not one in my location 20 miles away all with same plants in situ

Not seen one for a few years, then a couple of nights ago spotted a small one sniffing round Mrs Matts fake hanging baskets.
A few houses ago our neighbour had a lovely old honeysuckle, use to get some the same size as wrens sone evenings. Even had one overnight on a beach towel left on the line overnight, scared the crap out of me.

I’m just a 3.5 miles from Faversham, but did see a couple at my daughters last weekend in Boughton Monchelsea, both places they were on the hot lip plants.

Loved to watch them on the lavender in the Languedoc for many years, then about 10 years ago saw one in our pal’s garden outside Southport. To our delight a couple of years ago they started to appear in our garden in NI. Now regular visitors on the hotter days - amazing creatures!
