Taxidermy

Hello all this will be my first time hunting in UK while I’m stationed here (American military at RAF Fairford). Who does everyone suggest for taxidermy work? I figured since I’m a huge hunter I should take the opportunity to hunt the species you have over here while the government is paying me to be here.

Many thanks,

Logan Adams

That may depend on the species in question, some are great at one species but very few I’ve seen can do a good muntjac justice, they seem to be the one which get made to look demonic and weird more often than not!

I have a muntjac hunt booked for my wife and I in November. Who would you recommend for muntjac?

Best advise is look at peoples work and make the judgement based on what your eye likes, taxidermy is so subjective. Then it’s worth seeing how others have found the experience as some are notoriously slow and bad at communication! And some like to charge a lot more than others (some justifiably, others possibly not so!)

I have used Will Matthews for a shoulder mounted Roe and some European skull mounts (red stag) very pleased with his work, he really knows his stuff.

Steve Newcomb outwoods taxidermy.
There are very few that are taxidermy Guild Masters Game heads and he’s one.
