Rifle back pack

I bought a 30 litre olive green back pack from Military Kit and then imported one of these to attach to it. £80 all in. Fits everything I need and holds the rifle firmly.

Good find thanks for posting.

Does the Vorn accommodate rifle with bi-pod?
I mostly use mine for wildfowling so it only has to accommodate a shotgun, but I struggle to fit my centrefire rifles in there when I've tried - partly because of the scopes (fat turrets), partly because of the width of the stock (fat varmint-style at front). I haven't played much, so there might be a better way, but I would think the only way to make a bipod fit would be to push everything higher.

If you're using a standard sporter stock and a sensible hunting scope (as you probably should be when stalking...) you should be fine. Just be aware there isn't much width available. Depending on how you use it, this style of bag can be annoying for other reasons, too - the rifle hangs below your arse so you can't sit down with it on, for example. If you don't remove the rifle, you also have to lie the bag on its side if you take it off.

I don't really use the quick release feature so would trade that for more room if I could. It's a good bag, don't get me wrong, but it has some definite limitations.

The vorn backpacks can take large rifles.

As an example my AX with Schmidt PM11

Vorn Lynx just the right size for what you need for the hill - your piece, a flask, drag rope, coat layer, first aid kit, spare ammo, nitrile gloves...

I am watching this thread with interest.
I think I will go with the Vorn EV30.
The LT12 is compelling but there will no reserve once you have the essentials packed.

Another vote for a lynx. For being on the open hill all day it’s good kit, as @NickJ says it’ll take sufficient bits and bobs to keep you going! As to taking a big rifle-as said on another thread-it’ll accommodate my large-ish semi custom/PMII.

The EV30 looks really good. The upgraded carrying system appears an upgrade and the wider rifle compartment would be nice I admit.

I have a very small folding rifle that just about fits in the lynx to make it covert. The new packs would be perfect. I just can’t justify the expense.

don't touch Harkila Gone downhill I had one of the backpacks and stitching came away after a couple of uses. Then did what I should have done to start with and bought a Vorn

Yep what he said, got two in the man cave that are on route to the recycle dept, don’t know where they are made now but the quality has dropped
I changed to a medium sized tenzing, best bit of kit I’ve had, anything to keep bone dry I used the waterproof roll bags absolutely faultless, really worth the money, mine has seen some work and is still perfect.

I wouldn’t say the same for others

Army surplus plus a strap.
Pretty much what I did, fitted an entrenching tool holder at the bottom to put the butt in, and a quick release buckle on the top to hold it in place. If you get one of the radio packs, you can fit it centrally in the gap between the pack and the back system
