Light Strike - Firing Pin issue? Tikka M695

Recently, I have stripped the bolt, cleaned spring, firing pin etc, in the hope that this might cure the issue..... sadly not!
OP had already stripped the bolt but for anyone following start with a degreaser and then use a solvent, acetone will reach the parts that the washing fairy cannot reach. Don't immediately rush to add gunoil to gunk 🤫

OP might want to do it over and really focus on the inside of the bolt body

OP will take that advice on! Will give the bolt a proper clean through and soak tonight to try and un-gunk any detritus......

Thanks all for advice and comments - greatly appreciated.

No , you will have to look for GAT precision on Facebook to find him.
Whatever you do,do not let bushwear send your rifle to their gunsmith
thanks Dave,

I have found GAT precision details on GunTrader - will give him a call.

Noted re- bushwear gunsmith.

I wouldn't be chucking in a 695 for a T3x, more chance of hell freezing over! Old Tikka rifles are fantastic guns, new ones are ok but they're built by accountants rather than gunsmiths.

I'd go back and redo the cleaning of the bolt, then if that doesn't work, have it checked over by someone who knows what they're doing. A centrefire rifle isn't complicated, it really shouldn't be a tough or expensive job to fix it.

Measure bolt overall length then check with a smith or gmk for correct length good luck with gmk

Yet another Tika trouble? If I were a superstitious type I might be convinced all of them are cursed. :stir:

Had the same thing last week on a hind in Argyll, Im thinking bolt handle was slightly up, and used the same round later in the day and fired without issue, I've seen it a few times in tikkas or most variation. Almost a habit now, bolt down down, safety off shoot- almost a habit because I didn't do that last week 🤣
