Mod gaiters

So, my gaiters are on the way out as the zip is starting to go.
They're swedteam and have served me well for several years but just looked at the price of some new ones and it's brought a tear to my eye.
Years ago I had some old army ones which were also canvas type material "I'm not keen on the nylon ones as I don't trust them to last beating in waist high brambles" the army ones I had, had a wire under the foot an built to last.
I've looked on eBay but can only find them in camo and I want green.

So does anyone know of a supplier of green ones ar something similar at a sensible price please?
Cheers Jimmy

I am a swedteam fan , however while in the market for a decent pair of gaiters . I came across some Hakilla ones , ( Not generally a fan )
Have to say have been brilliant and on there 3rd season and still look newish think they where around the £45-50 mark .

I have seen gaiters just as you describe, a big bundle of them, on the army surplus / junk stall at the game fair.
Perhaps try some of the milsurp websites?

Have a look at Hart gaiters. I don’t use them myself, but know a man who does. 😊
They are made from a heavy canvas material with a wire under boot strap.
I have the “Munro” from Monarch Country…I can’t fault them at all.

Have you tried MacGaiters? The neoprene ones….worth a try, and depending on what size I may have a pair you can have for just the postage. I bought my wife a pair after liking mine and she never really wears them.

I’ve used the OG canvass gaiters for years beating & picking up but really struggled to find a pair the last time I needed to replace them a few years back. I can imagine they’re pretty much impossible to find now. You might have to settle for a pair in DPM or MTP.

A very much appreciated and kind offer matey thank you, I've a friend who also swears by them but I've tried his and can't seem to get on with them unfortunately.
Cheers Jimmy.

Never been one for cam clothing of any sort unfortunately DB,
There used to be a fantastic ex army surplus store 5 miles from me but it shut down a good few years back
Cheers Jimmy.

That’s why I kept looking till I found a pair of OG ones last time round. Not sure what to do when they finally give up - zip pulls have already broken & been replaced by split rings & para cord. Last pair the webbing that connects the wires to the gaiter eventually tore through… gaiters themselves were still perfect though.

If you still have the old gaiters try doing a Google search using the NSN, you might find someone online who has some.

Jimmy, I have a used pair you can have! , Gixer, I’ll take the McGaiters if that’s ok?

I use Trailwise Snolock gaiters. Plain green heavy canvas. Never had an issue with them and have been using the same two pairs for about 12 years now.
