I volunteered for my local FLD last summer.😇

The FLM would have been delighted for someone to 'lean in' just one day a week.

The "Volunteer Coordinator" did not even know who the FLD were.

He referred it to his "Manager" - seven months later, I am still waiting to hear from her.

I emailed the FLM explaining (without compliant) the situation, as I did not want him to think that the lack of any progress was down to me.

Absolute fing shambles.

If I could be arsed, I would send them the above advert.

Meanwhile, the delays for grants/renewals/variations continue a pace...🙄

The HeForShe movement????
A different world than the one that I live in.
I do find it odd that it got as much page space as the actual job advert.

I was also mentioning this all the other day, when it was revealed how much various public bodies spend on 'diversity managers'. Surely the diversity, inclusion, and various other policies are basically all the same no matter what your field. Why break it down? Why not have one policy for all public bodies and do away with paying people to create a slightly different policy at a local level?

Dear lord, what ever next? Volunteer bad guys 🤔
This whole 'volunteer policing' is a slippery slope but hey - its the people behind the triggers we should be worrying about....

Hope they vet the volunteer as much as they do for a grant of a firearm, given the information they will have access too.
I'm sure they will. They will vet and red tape the volunteer until he gives up or they find some other way of driving him/her/it out.

Can we volunteer for an armed response unit?

No mention of any security clearance requirement for someone who’ll have access to sensitive personal data and know the details of owners of firearms and their storage locations and details. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Did they not learn from the debacle when an anti was employed to work with the data on badger cullers and leaked that information.

Guntrader already gave all that out
