Gents
Anyone with any experience good or bad of the above rifle? It'll be to replace a t3x varmint which is just getting too heavy for me with my crocked shoulder. Thanks.
Its a .204 im looking at, for foxing so will be wanting to put a pic rail on.Best suited to the lighter end of .308 based cartridges (i.e 243, 6.5 Creedmoor, 260 Rem, 7mm08).
Chuck Hawkes gave them a good review. I have had two 700s one for 20 odd years in triple deuce - most accurate rifle I ever shot and the other for 10 years or so in .308 - also a great shooting rifle. Its a .204 im looking at, for foxing so will be wanting to put a pic rail on.

Therein lies the rub.if it’s not shot out.
Agree, but better to ask all the questions.I can't see an m7 being shot to death at the range. It's just not that sort of rifle....
You assume correctly & that's my biggest concern. Whilst my t3x is heavy, at least I've owned it from new....Agree, but better to ask all the questions.
Is the crown and first couple of inches of bore good?
Is the throat or barrel erroded or got any fire cracking?
This assuming you can't go see it.

What pic rail did you get?
I’ve got a model 7 in 308 with 18” barrel, lovely little stalking rifle.
Just FYI.What pic rail did you get?

Just FYI.
The "New" (2014?) M7 I recently bought came with a rail fitted.
This rail only has two cross slots at the front and one slot across the back end.
I don't know if this is a Remington rail but it's not ideal, especially if you want to put NV and IR on the same rail.
