Stalking boots ??

Hi guys
Been looking for the last week or so, need a new pair of boots, find a lot of good and bad reviews,
Looking at

Harkila
Zamberlan
Any recommendations, / ones to avoid etc

Lowa combat gtx had them all and seem to alway go back to the old lowa there mega

Lowa or haix, I don't see the point of spending hundreds when the cheaper lowa or haix are as comfy and considerably cheaper. I think my haix are 7 years old now, usually covered in mud, blood and just about anything else still as waterproof as the day they were new

Evening, don't buy Meindl boots they have gone down hill rapidly. I have bought a pair of Scrap mountain boots and have never had as dry feet, I will never own" stalking hunting boots" ever again.

Rather than wait for new comments I would use the search facility and check out the previous comments made on this topic.

Plenty of threads already on this subject.

Work out what you want from a boot, type of ground you are going to be covering etc and whether you are in out of vehicles all day or you are climbing a couple of Munro’s.

A boot that suitable for hard rough and steep ground is very different from a soft boot suitable for pottering about a farm and woodland in an ATV.

Then go a decent out door boot shop with somebody who knows how to find the right boot for your feet and try on several different brands etc. and find a pair that fit you from the start.

The common brands all have very different shapes.

Meindl Dovre Extreme. Comfortable from the off, waterproof, fully support on the hill, cheaper than Harkila. Also have the short for when I’m not hill climbing.

My Brandecosse Brontolare 11" have been brilliant. I got them a little large for thicker socks. Not only stalked and fished in them over 3 winters but also done a lot of mileage on dog walks on cold days.

When my Miendl Bhutan's have worn out I will get the shorter Brandecosse Fagiano to replace them as the build quality is better than Miendl.
