Sore paws

Just been through this over the last month. I tried Paw Balm but after two weeks of applying twice a day it made little difference. Spoke to the vet and he told me to bath paws in salt water twice a day. Cleared up in a week.

Cheers,
Had no problem early on this season but last two shoots have been a bit of a nightmare. Trying paw balm this week but will have a go with the salt water.

My hound has this a few times, along minor cuts on a pad. Easiest is just put her in luke warm 2” deep bath, and just wash each paw with dove soap. Gets all the muck and crap out.

Then a couple of days in her pit curled up and off games. Extra biscuits required though.

After a two or three days things are much better, and a few days later raring to go again.8D6607FD-0382-4108-AB30-04903F5B695F.webp

Worn pads, worn nails, split pads? Most is just abrasive and it's like rubs/blister when chopping wood/rowing etc
Looks like worn and split (It's hard work get him to sit still long enough to have a good look) and he starts mouthing when you try which is an indication that there's something not quite right. I'll give the salt water bathing a go then a trip to the vets if it continues.
