That takes me back! I saw Nils Lofgren supporting Neil Young at Wembley Arena on his Trans tour back in 1983 - 40 years ago this year. :old:

Although I knew of him from albums such as Neil Young's After the Gold Rush and Tonight's the Night, I think the first time I became aware of Nils Lofgren as a soloist in his own right was in '79, when he released this track, which is still a classic:

Can’t find the version of “Take You To The Movies Tonight/Back It Up” from this album but it’s my favourite NL performance and it took me a long time to track-down a copy when first released:

RIP Burt Bacharach. His music was from a different time, but still oozes quality.

Although from a different time, when you listen to his music today the amazing craftsmanship just shines through. Listen to the perfect combination of lyrics and music, and it is little wonder these songs remain timeless.

This medley of hits, with Dionne Warwick signing Bacharach and David songs, is staggering in terms of its musical diversity. I’d challenge anyone not to find their foot tapping to these gems! Oh that we had musicians of similar talent today.

I referenced the Pointer girls earlier and this popped up,I haven't seen the clip since the movie first came out.
The truck doing the damage is quite savage.

There must be something you want Hmm Earnest Ranglin beyond the baseline, lp going for ludicrous money on Discogs!
