Turns out that our little syndicate has less time that we thought to 'vacate the premises'.
There was a suggestion that we could continue to shoot until the end of February, but no, we lost the 'rights' on the 1st inst. and so we are off.
There is a 'work party' mid-week to drop and relocate the seats. I cannot make it, and so busy myself last week and today, by removing what I can by myself.
Today's task is "Lidl' Seat. Why "Lidl'? Because it's cheap and cheerful - just a plastic seat atop a ladder.
It is also in a fairly isolated part of the ground and that ground is soft. I park the truck and hoof it in.

By the time I have cut it free, dropped it...

and dragged it back to the truck, the first dog walkers are making an appearance.
A chap whom I have never before spoke to, stops for a chat. He knows the land has been sold and he is (obviously) curious.
We talk long enough for the cup (an actual cup) of coffee he is holding to go cold. He has a son with medical issues (oddly I am aware of this) and he vents his frustrations as only a Father can. I mentally thank the Gods that 'mine' are free from any such afflictions.
As I load the High Seat onto the trailer,

he says:-
"At least we don't live in Turkey". A reference to the terrible natural disaster that has struck that region this week. He is of course, absolutely right.
I am reminded of how very lucky I have been - to have been born where I was, and to live in a decent part of the world. It puts everything into perspective.
I clamber back into the truck, and he waves me off with a final few words:-
"Nice to chat to you. See you around".
I slowly pulled away, raised my hand to him and rather wistfully thought:-
"No. No you won't'.
As I pulled off the Estate for the very last time.
